I know this seems typical for my generation, but what's the problem with it? It kills brain cells? so does listening to loud music. It's a gateway drug? that's debatable enough since it seems no two professionals can seem to agree on it.

My theory is just that it would be too difficult to tax, so the government has decided against it. I won't lie, i smoke a little every now and then. I certainly don't find it addictive, and the though of doing anything such as snorting something up my nose or putting a needle in my arm is completely out of the question.

Even if it's just for medicinal use. Something has to give. You don't hear about many people smoking weed then going on killing sprees. Someone fill me in here and let me know i'm not alone.

*p.s. i guess it was only a matter of time before i brought this up considering my signature.*

Did it ever occur to you that your government moniters your viewpoint on boards like this?

Whoah, just testing...

You're generation? I don't know what that is, but people have been smoking weed most of the 20th century, and enjoying it, so I don't think it's a generational thing.

If you want to kill brain cells, alcohol is the champ.

Gateway drug? That's the funniest thing--it's only a "gateway" to other illicit drugs because you have to buy it from people who sell other illicit drugs. Like Band-Aides are a gateway to Tylenol, because you get them at the same store.

The government could tax weed the same way they do cigarettes, with the exception that anyone can grow weed in their bedroom closet with the right lights.

Drug policy in this country borders on the imbicility. No one (except maybe Nancy Reagan--an probably not, she was a Hollywood starlet once upon a time) actually believes in it. Clinton certainly didn't, I'm sure Bush is only paying lip service to it as well, despite his following the straight and narrow.

And the Twinkies didn't cause a "killing spree"--just used as a defence in one particularly high profile case (San Francisco Commissioner Dan White killing fellow Commissioner Harvey Milk--that was all about Milk's being gay).

fuck yeah man I'm all about some weed!

However, decriminalization
(I'm pretty sure that is spelled correctly)
is where we need to go.
I've always thought that we could use the dutch model as a starting point and go from there.

I think they should just leagalize freedom... NORML has made great strides considering but really by the time pot is leagal Ciggs will be illeagal....it is insanity!
