All this hype is making me sick.
A highschool athlete, teammate of that athlete, principle, coach or athletic director should not be on sportscenter. Yes he may be the next Kobe Bryant, but let the kid be a kid for just a fe w more months. For all we know he might go the NBA and flop.

I think they are hyping him up way too much.

I agree there.... they have milked so much from this kid, parading him all around he U.S. Placing him on sports magazine, scrutinizinghs every move and action. Let him be, let him play and when the time comes, let him get paid whatever he warrants.

I agree. He's what, 17 and getting a lot of shit from a lot of people. Like with the Hummer and the Jersey's, it's stupid the kid can't even accept a gift from people because they think he going to go somewhere someday.

I don't blame him. From what I see he's probably the least culpable in the pageant his life has become.

I don't think he'll flop. He'll progress slower than Kobe and Kevin though. He'll probably be a Mcgrady type and take 3 years before he plays at an all-star level because he's so unselfish and doesn't have a deadly jumper yet.

But he is good. The stuff about him being better than Kobe, Kevin and Tracy at his age is no lie.

If people watch the Mcdonalds all-american game or saw highlights of those guys, they were very rough around the edges and one dimensional in some ways. James is head and shoulders above where they were in HS.

i wouldnt be surprised if the kid over doses or ends up shot in a couple years, i really wouldnt.

I'm still wondering how in the hell a Wes Unseld throwback jersey is worth more than 2 bucks....

Labron obviously isn't that smart if he took the Unseld jersey. I would have been asking for the vintage Hank Aaron Atlanta Braves uni.

I think he'll be tossing Shaq's salad in 8 months.

He won't be cause we'll make the playoffs and win our 4th championship.

Eh...he's in High School, who cares?
in six months he'll have the biggest endorsement deal in the nba, not to mention a large contract.

That's not gonna make me want to have his children, or anything.

The mind control gun his hummer came with will.

*nods*

A vintage Spurs uni with "Iceman" on the back.. Hell even an old school late 80's Pistons uni with "Laimbeer" Anything would have been better than a Wes Unseld jersey.

btw.. Indiana will never be able to compare to Detroit's Bad Boys of 88 to 90. How I miss those days.

indiana is weak. they are quasi bad ass wannabees. and as long as isiah thomas is their coach they will never win a championship. if larry legend couldnt win a title with them isiah has no chance.

Sad thing is I used to like Zeke! Before the Raptors came around I was a pretty big Pistons fan (since the Detroit stations were the only ones we got up here in Canada) and Isiah was the heart and soul of the Pistons.

Then when he joined the Raptors I was even more thrilled.. only to find out that for as good as he was a player, he was just as bad as a front office guy.

You talk about people who have fellen from grace.. #11 is damn near #1 on that list.

how bout how he destroyed the cba. he had a bad string of shit jobs for a while. horrible jon at the raptors. goes and takes over the cba and runs the league into the ground. now he has a deceant team in indiana and he probably fuck that up too. But at least joe dumars is kicking ass in detroit. one guy on that team turned out ok at least.

Joe D has always been a favorite of mine as well .. I don't think too many people could contain Jordan (and lets be honest, no one stopped Jordan..) back in the day but Joe did as best as anyone could.

It's nice to see the Pistons back as a top tier team after a few years of bottom dwelling. I'm still a bit of a Pistons fan, so seeing them win never hurts... unless it's against the Raptors.

Agreed. Absolutely sickening. Who cares how much moves he's got? He's still playing against high school kids, and compared to high school kids, he's a freak.

If he goes to the NBA, they will eat him alive for the first couple of years. Maybe, maybe, he'll be a Bryant or a Garnett and turn into a monster in a few years, or maybe he'll be a Jermaine O'Neal and need five or six. Or maybe he won't go anywhere.

But putting so much pressure on athletes is exactly why they crack.
