Laundry

I offered to do your laundry...but no...I got ignored...

it's a good thing I like you so much.

One small load a day, with Jeans to be done on Sundays when I'm puttering around in PJ's all day.

No one touches my laundry.

Laundry is the one thing I'm kinda private about. Don't ask me why, it's a hangup.

It doesn't matter, it's what YOU want that counts!

okay then...I'll clean your bathroom...you can do your laundry if that will make you happy.

can I at least fold your bras?

I use my detergent and some Oxy-Clean (Great stuff!!).

Oxyclean is the reason I don't have to seperate my laundry. Nothing ever bleeds over onto anything else, my whites are white, and everything lasts forever.

My dryer is taking twice as long to dry tonight - what could the problem be?

The heating element isn't out.

Oh, you poor thing!

I wonder if that nasty dryer has it's exhaust clogged up with your wonderful lint... It should clean itself, I know...

Did you check the settings?

Did you...gripping my linens...overload the washer?

These are my main faux pas...:) Love to hate the fluff cycle. I use it so I don't have to iron...then I have wet clothes the next load...

Check the vent. sometimes they clog up and you have to empty the hose and vent periodically. If ya don't it will blow your element.

Hmmmmm. Could be any of the following:

* Clogged filter.
* Clogged dryer hose.
* Clogged vent.
* Bird's nest in vent. (I shyte thee not about this one!)
* Heating element may be on its swan song.

Most likely a clogged dryer hose. I moved into a rented condo that came with W/D. A couple of months into the year, and the dryer was taking forever, and clothes were coming out hot, yet dripping wet. Finally got the idea to check the 20 feet of dryer hose (that far from the dryer in the center hallway of the condo, up through the attic and out the 2nd floor dryer vent). It was nearly completely clogged with wet dryer lint, a build-up of more than six years: I've seen pictures of arteries far less congested than this!. We took the hose to the carwash area and just blasted about a half ton of soggy lint out of the hose. Yick, ick and double yuck.

Lo ad behold, stuff started to dry normally again. Just beware - I ended up with rust spots on some clothes since the inside drum started rusting from the moisture.

Good luck.

(dammit, gotta type faster to keep up with you folks.)

Where is the vent?

Two of them: one is right at the back of the dryer. Follow the hose to the outside of the house/apartment/hovel/etc. to find the other vent.
