Last Movie You Watched - Part II

I can understand that. So heads up, dune is going go be at least 2 parts, if not three. That's how much there is to the book. I have seen people complain about the ending, and they don't understand because they haven't read the book. I have read bits and pieces of Asimov. But I need to read more.

I did some research about the story. A general view of the houses, places and politics of Dune. Just enough to not go totally clueless and feel lost. So far, so good. I'm very intrigued. Especially with the Bene Gesserit order/organization.

Once Upon a Time in the West... Been catching up on old Westerns, especially the Spaghetti westerns that were nearly impossible to find until the advent of streaming.

The kitchen - Tiffany Haddish, Mellissa McCarthy, Elisabeth Moss. Had a good idea but felt like they forced a longer story into a 1-1/2 hour film and it didn't really work.

Finally, I'm watching Dune this weekend. I'm very curious.

I enjoyed it A LOT. As a child of the 80s I watched the original David Lynch one (husband LOVES it), and the story gets so lost it’s very hard to follow. But this one I could follow the story and understand the plot and characters so much better.

The intense moments are super intense and I was on the edge of my seat for much of the movie (which is rare for me).

Also…Jason Mamoa

Also at the very beginning of the movie it says “PART ONE”. Didn’t stop my son from Turing to me at the end with a look of incredulity that it ended where it did. Also it’s not a cliff hanger so you have to be very invested in the story.

Husband is a fan of the first one and has read the first book in addition to actual research of the story to learn more (it’s what he does 😁 ) and was a little disappointed in some information not being a part of this movie as opposed to the David Lynch version. Some things may turn up in the next movie and some are interesting but don’t lend anything to the story. So like the Harry Potter movies decisions need to be made so these things aren’t 80 hours long!

The just green lighted the second movie (which I am sure is already filmed fir the most part because when you have stars of the caliber that are part of this you film everything while you have them) so I would guess will be out 2023 time?

Free Guy... with Canadian Ryan Reynolds .. Loved it & needs to be watched on a BIG screen with BIG sound

Is that your first time through the man with no name trilogy? Good/bad/ugly always gets all the attention... but the first two are great in their own right, and give so much to the story of G/B/U

Yes, i watched all three, one right after the other, and promptly fell in love with Clint Eastwood. I could easily watch them again … maybe on a cold, snowy day. I love those old westerns. The good guys always find clever ways to get out of their “situations.” :D

For a movie(s) as old as the man with no name trilogy, they did a good job of blurring the lines of who was good and who wasn't.
