I am new to this forum and have been looking and reading some of the enteries.

I seem to notice a lot or the majority of women recommend some thing called " Magic lotion" or some thing along those lines when it comes to removing unwanted hair ....

Does it really work ?
Where can it be found ?

Just some curious questions.
Thanks. :)

go to "search" type in.. Magic hair removal.. and you get a whole lot of info on it..

The name of the product is actually "Magic Shave" and it come in a powder or lotion form.

It can be found in the "ethnic hair products" section of many drug and department stores. Walmart, Wlagreen's, Target, and Rite-Aid are just some of the places it can be found. If you search for posts by Cheyenne, she posted a link to an online source for Magic.

Magic Shave was developed to deal with the shaving bumps caused by black men's curly hair and sensitive skin. From the reports of the ladies here, it works equally well on other "short and curlies" :)

Make sure you do the patch test recommended on the label! Magic is NOT for everyone. (Search for posts by cymbidia for the consequences of not following the directions and warnings.)

ACK! I was going to post a warning to this effect, as i try to do every time i see this now, but i see that WH is his *very* thorough way has already done that.

So, let me beat a dead horse here a moment:
Follow the directions! Do the recommended patch test before you slather Magic wildly all over your pubes.

The preceeding has been brought to you by Smart People Who Do Stupid Things, a self-help association of sometimes quite embarassed and sheepish Literoticians.

I tried it and love it !

I do not know where it can be found in Germany but lucky me - I have friends traveling a lot to the US *lol*

Anyway - tried it - love it ... so smooooooooooth *sighing with delight*

I tested the lotion/cream and it was rally nice and easy. I had no problems but I go woth cym and the others ... patch test! your skin is damn sensitive "down there" (although I admit - no chemicals anywhere too close to my sweet spot.. there it is only a sharp blade and a steady hand *g*)

for the ultimate reference ask Cheyenne *lol*

I second the patch test recommendation and you can develop an allergy to it after you have been using it a while. I didn't react until the second time I used it. Can you say NASTY chemical burn.
Be careful.

Powder or lotion

Thank you for all the feedback on Magic

I noticed some mentioned the powder form why others mention the lotion ... is one better then the other one ?!?!?

Or do both work the same ??

Thank you. :)

As far as I know, they work the same, although the powder can be mixed to the consistency you want for a stronger concentration or more control over where it goes.

Check the label when you find it and see which would work best for you.

My personal favorite is called 'Surgicream." Fantastic stuff!
My sensitive skin didn't react at all.

??

Sweet :

Where do you find " Surgicream " ?

I have yet to be able to find that "Magic" one.

Seems the stores down here in my area don't carry it.

Surgi-cream

I buy Surgi-cream at my local Rite Aid (it comes in a box with the medical symbol on it) but found it the first time on the web.

FINALLY !!!!

Well I finally found that " magic " stuff at my local Target,
it was way at the bottom covered in dust but I got me a blue can.

I did the patch test like all suggested and all went well, I finally used it today and it worked for me.

The only negative side to this magic thing is that is smell so bad ! I mean some how it smelled like ... ICKY !!

But it did the job .. all smooth. :)

Nice to know it worked .. as for the smell - I usually use it before soaking in a tub afterwards or such so it isn't too bad - actually - I used the lotion and I think it isn't too bad .. it didn'T come in a can tough but in a tube

O' I did forget to ask in my last post ... the instructions say to remove with the " spatula" ... my little can came with no spatula ... I simply used a plastic knife and it worked just as well.

Hecate : If you don't mind me asking what do you remove it with ?!?!?

I'm not Hecate, but... :p

The small bottle size rubber spatual (like that made by Rubbermaid (tm) has been suggested as being ideal for use with Magic.

Re: the smell -- The lotion version of Magic is reported to be much less odiferous.

Now you see it, now you dont!!

Magic lotion...damn!

now just where is Cheyenne when you need her?
LOL

maybe we need to have Laurel make a permanent post for Magic Lotion...it certainly seems to be a popular topic on here!

Personally, i hate shaving.... i have tried waxing, but i cannot stand to wait that long to remove the hair.... so lately i have just been using regular old Nair... it works just fine and doesn't seem to burn at all... but you have to wash it off after about 4 minutes... so have the shower ready!!

I don't mind you asking at all *lol* and although you already got an answer some "confirmation" won't hurt *lol*

I have kept the spatula from my previous depilation product, but it honestly isn't really anything different than a piece of plasic pretty much like a plastic knife, just without any too sharp edges.
I guess anything with a clear defined edge made of plasticy stuff would do *shruggs shoulders* so I assume you are just fine *s*
