Lack of men cheating on wife stories

I was just musing over the ideology behind as to why slut wife type stories where a wife wants to be with another man are so arousing to so many people.

After I studied up a little, I found it humorous that there is a very low ratio of stories going the other way, men cheating on their wives and the wives finding it arousing.

I guess this type of story wouldnt be a work of fiction though, this oppertunity posed to 99% of men would result in a dotted outline of where they were previously standing and a dust cloud in their wake

I just love the ones where the tax preparer and the wife make the husband watch them cheat on the forms. And then they FORCE him to sign the very forms they cheated on. The humiliation aspect of it is so arousing. And to top it off, the wife and tax preparer agree in front of the husband to do it again in 12 months!

Male Bashing, or cutting him off at the nuts is nothing new:

In any event for want of a better idea, perhaps the reason there isn't as much call for cheating husband stories as there are cheating wife stories is because woman are considered more faithful than men around the world when we talk about relationships. Another double standard of course because they aren't. Yet this double standard is one that women enjoy, so it never gets dumped on. Why? Because women say they need a reason to cheat, and men only need another warm body to cheat. This generalization, also a falsehood, is kept alive because it benefits women's ideas of their own self worth, and inner thought processes. So for men to cheat would be in character, but not so much for women, unless some good reason came up.

Most women think Men are pigs, so therefore all men act like pigs, right? Another generalization, but one that furthers women's supremacy over men, right? Watch any sit-com, and you'll see every subtle hint possible about how every male from puberty on is dumber than dog shit, and ruled by their dick. How they rationalize this after having the boy previously as a mensa student is beyond me, but again, women love it so it stays that way. Which is another reason the cheating husband stories don't sell much here either.

So seriously, if you want to write a story of fiction on men cheating on their wife you need to give him a reason for cheating on her that's every bit as good a reason as say a woman would come up with.

I think the reason why there is so little interest in "cheating husbands" whereas there is such an interest in "cheating wives", is because of the gender types society has when it comes to sexuality.

Men are supposed to be horny rabbits 24-7, and a cheating husband is no news.
Women are supposed to only get sexually aroused - not horny, mind you! - if they Are In Love. Therefor, stories of women having sex with someone else than their husband hints that these women actually have sex not to please the man they love, but because they are sexually interested in the guy they cheat on their loved one with!

Dirt Man made what I think is the best point. It's a double standard, but I think it has less to do with men being expected to cheat, or women being in love with anyone.
The double standard bites us in the ass here, I think: When women pursue, or playfully accept the pursuit of, a man then she is "exploring her sexuality", regardless of whether her actions violate any moral standard. When men do it, we're just being ass holes. In the end, it yet again sucks to be male...
