Lack of Contact with Administration/Moderator

How do I get the administration to communicate with me?

On 2/26/17 I "successfully submitted" a story which has not yet been published (the screen says "awaiting moderator's approval"). A week later, I emailed the administration requesting an explanation (I advanced a reason as to why it wasn't published) and they failed to respond. I re-wrote the story, changing the angle (which might have had legal ramifications for the site, if not for myself), and "successfully submitted" that one on 3/13/17 (still "awaiting moderator's approval").

In sum, I can't get answers from the moderator/administration. Is this typical? And what's the best way to reach them?

I have tried to communicate with them too about a different issue but it seems they do not really do much. Maybe this is a dead forum?
