He who controls the purse strings, controls the world.

This is smart, actually. When the U.S. economy collapses, there won't be the usual World Bank hit team flying in demanding 'austere' measures and loans at ridiculous interest rates.

Instead it will be 'Here's your blank cheque Massa Bush, sah. Have fun!"
