Well, I finally got back to classes today and I have shit load of work to make up in the next month or so, so my social life went right back down the drain. So, I have to read this book, L'étranger, hand in an original translation, and write a 20 page reflection paper on the mean, insights, symbolism, and all that other shit by Tuesday. Life sucks. Any you frenchies out there wanna give me the jist of the novel so I know what the hell's going on?

Perhaps, my all time favorite book....

but I don't want to ruin the enjoyment you'll surely get by reading it..

well, that and it's almost time for me to go home...

It has been 15 years since I read it and did the same sort of paper.

Now, I would recommend that if you are pressed for time, go purchase the English version or get it from the library.

It is based in existentialism.

Thinking back....Hmmmm

I do seem to remember that we discussed at lenght two points, which may or may not be valid to you.

One was the sun and the role of heat throughout the tale.

The second was that everything moved on around the main character inspite of the conflict he was going through.

Personally, I didn't like it, so dont' remember a whole lot more than that.

:) Good Luck!
