KY question

I was just wondering why everyone puts down KY?
Is it just that there's better stuff to use? I have only used KY and finds no problems with it, other than its always cold right out of the tube.
Its just easiest to find and buy...at your local drugstore

Personally I prefer KY to say astroglide. AG is like water in my humble opinion.

Besides, KY won't be cold out of the tube if you place the tube in a glass of warm water 10 minutes before you need it.

You could always try using 'Wet'... Thick, scented, flavored, and safe to use with condoms or toys... And you can find it at just about any drug store.

Though, some women produce alot of natural lube once they get a little help from the not so natural lube. But there is a big differece with which lube ya use to get started and keep it flowing with.

The gellatin lubes are ok but they dry out quickly. Use a silicone based one. They are a little bit more pricey but in the long run you use less. Not to mention that overall they are better.

We got some KY warming jell, and I can't use it. It irritates me. However, I have usued other warming products with no problem.

Anyone esle have this problem with KY?

I haven't tried it (I'm afraid to after the horror stories), but it must be one or more of the ingredients in their "proprietary blend" (Propylene Glycol, Glycerin, Acacia Honey Type O, Methylparaben) that irritates some people.

Here are some fun facts about propylene glycol from the CDC:
The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has classified propylene glycol as an additive that is "generally recognized as safe" for use in food. It is used to absorb extra water and maintain moisture in certain medicines, cosmetics, or food products. It is a solvent for food colors and flavors.

Propylene glycol is also used to create artificial smoke or fog used in fire-fighting training and in theatrical productions.

i have to agree that wet is my lube of choice it's just so slippery. I have tried the ky warming and I don't think it is all that great for sex, but it is amazing for handjobs and other play. I like that it warms up and that it doesn't have one of those sweet flavors. try it on nipples, there the holding power doesn't matter as much as the heat.

K-Y Jelly is reliable.........I've never had problems with it
at all.

I think everyone has diff. tastes in what they want to

KY is good when you want to do anal. It is also good because it is compatible with condoms. That is one of the reasons that I have never used another brand.
Now KY has a new product, it heats up any area that you put KY down on. This is great for getting it set for some anal, or just to have fun.

It's not that bad, but I expected the original formula to be thicker than it is...I think I got a bottle for around $5 on amazon.com

Astroglide (original) is a liquid. A gell has better staying power, c.f. oil vs grease for lubricating bearings. The liquid form is intended to mix with other liquids and alter its viscosity. Obviously, that would work well for vaginal use, but isn't quite the situtation for anal...

I think KY is great, because of its jellyness.

well i can say that we like Wet and KY

i can also say that what ever you do, DO NOT USE anything with Eucalyptise (sp?) and Spearmint, ie. Bath and Body Works lotion or rubbing oil....you will both be numb.
Last Valentines day we experienced this and all of the sudden our hands and fingers and lips and everything elase was numb and heavy...we had been going for so long and hard that we didnt notice it until it really kicked in and we started laughing about it that we didnt even finish we just fell asleep laughing

I have found that Ky warming gel is fun to use but it does not agree with everyone.

My current boyfriend can't use Ky warming because it irritate the area of his genital piercing.

I have also found that all girls should immediately after using any lube wash all areas that came in contact with it very well. Girls can be affected by having lube stay on her "parts" for an extended period of time. It can cause unnatural dryness later and irritations. Plus it may change the taste of her juices later on. (i.e. use lube on monday night but don't clean it up right away and go down on her on Wednesday night her cum might have a very unattractive taste)

Great info, Erika. I haven't even heard of it since I always went for the KY. I'm definitely going to read more on this.

Just don't use silicone lube with silicone toys. It' bonds and changes the surface...
