Kurt Vonnegut as professor

Vonnegut is the greatest writer in the English language of the past century. Just my opinion, worth what you paid for it.

:D Use words I know.

I love it.

He always reminded me of Mark Twain without the country overtones.

As someone who used to teach English classes I can only admire enviously!

So jealous. I'd love creative assignments like this. I loved most of my college professors, though. My last english professor was a bit too stereotypically "This is why English shouldn't be a real major" though, talking about stuff like how lines on a page were sideways vaginas...

On a tangential note, I found it hilarious when Vonnegut played himself in a cameo in the movie "Back to School." He was hired by Rodney Dangerfield's Thornton Melon to write a paper on the topic of the novels of Kurt Vonnegut. Recognizing the work as not Melon's own, the Professor tells him, "Whoever did write this doesn't know the first thing about Kurt Vonnegut."

:D

I'm with Tx. 'Use words I know.' Yes. Excellent advice to anyone who wishes to be read.

And so it goes.

Write what you know?

Opps, sorry. This was meant to be a separate thread.

Yes, great scene. And he was one of my favorite all time authors.
