Kroger the latest to join a growing list of employers countrywide to add a surcharge on health coverage

removing paid leave for the unvaxxed who contract covid, still paid leave for the vaxxed, imposition of a monthly $50 extra for health coverage, and retaining the $100 incentive-to-get-your-shots

“As we prepare to navigate the next phase of the pandemic, we are modifying policies to encourage safe behaviors including vaccination,” she said in a statement.

Starting next year, salaried, nonunion employees who are unvaccinated and enrolled in the company’s health insurance plan must pay a monthly $50 surcharge, the company spokeswoman said. But employees who are fully vaccinated are eligible for paid Covid leave, if they get a breakthrough case.
i don't know the balance of union v non-union workers, but it should include all employees.
 
It's the obvious thing to do. Let them pay for their stupidity themselves.
