In African countries to this day, they perform female circumsions. They cut off the womans clitoris and part of her labia so that she does not enjoy sex!

This is creating a lot of problems because it is not done by medical doctors and causes a lot of problems with menstral cycles and urination.

I did not know that this was still done!

You didn't know it was still done because you're most probably some fucking idiot that believes that people in Africa are all innocent victims of the evil white man.
African's are the most uncivilized people on the planet.

It is and it's awful. The worst thing is though that they are outcasted by their families - probably the people who did that to her in the first place - because they smell bad because of the urine loss and the infections because of the unprofessional 'treatment'.

There are organisations that help these women, but they still have a long way to go plus the whole thing needs to stop, but that is something that will take forever to take effect I'm afraid.

it's also being done in our more 'civilised' countries.
there have been several cases reported where african girls were circumcised in australia, england and the usa by backyard practitioners, at the will of their more traditional families.
something like this is almost impossible to stop - it's a deeply cultural act, and they see anyone outside the culture as interfering and overbearing, with no right to tell them to cease the practise.
