Kitten Finds a Playmate

I love the way the kitten is constantly surprised by itself in the mirror. :cattail:

They're still adorable when they grow up. :catroar:

Right. :cattail: They may not be as cute and fluffy, but they are pretty and affectionate and fun to be around. :) Most adult cats are adorable in a different way. :)

You never met our last one. Wouldn't sit on your lap, only next to you if she felt like it. If you tried to pet her more than four pats, you got bit. Managed to live an incredibly long time on pure cussedness.

:) Yep.

I have two little ones in my house...a brother and sister. When we adopted them they were just over two weeks old...too young to eat solid food, too young to purr, too young even to know what string was for. So young that they felt much more secure in a closed carrier than they did on the sofa with one of us. They were slightly smaller than my hand and SO...UTTERLY...ADORABLE, but part of that total cuteness was their utter helplessness. Now they're eight weeks old and behaving like normal little kittens, much bigger than they were, no longer helpless, and SO...UTTERLY...ADORABLE...in a completely different way. In another twelve weeks that cuteness will be something else, and by next fall, it'll again be something entirely different. We also have two full-grown cats, one of eight years and one of six years, who never stopped being cute and adorable.

But I think that's the way it is with pets in general. :D

Some cats are like that. But in my experience, that kind of thing is the exception, not the norm.

Our cat, Dexter allows us to live with her as long as we fill her dish, let her in an out of the house and don't hog the bed, she allows me to sleep in.

Other than that she is pretty independent. She hisses when she wants outside and isn't real patient if you're slow to react.

She was rescued from a dumpster when she was about five weeks old and never took to anyone except my Doberman, who plays chase with her. She loves Teddy.
