That is what is going on in my house.
The boy is upstairs on the PS2 playing King Kong...with the cheat codes he made me get...
The girl is downstairs on Gamecube doing Bratz Rock Angels.

We now have action figures for both.

Santa also brought them walkie talkies which they use while one is in one room and the other is in the next room 8ft away.

I give it until the end of the week when they start telling me they are bored.

You think you have clear till the end of the week?
Lucky mama.

I already got my first "I'm bored" yesterday afternoon from my 10 year old.
I just shot her a look and she turned and walked out of the room without saying another word.

I hate that sound.

Our next comment after hearing that whine always involves some sort of physical activity, like - "Oh, good! I'm glad you're bored! Now you can help us clean out the garage today!"

Silly children. Youth, energy and inexperience are no match for age, wisdom and treachery.

Indeed.

A woman after my own heart.

Mine learned very quickly not to use that phrase, like you it usually meant some kind of chore, or a long, long, long walk over hills and through woods.

It's rainy...they have toys....they want to go shopping...kill me now.

Tell them they have to stand in the longest line at the customer service counter before they can do any shopping!

I haven't heard that in so long that I almost forgot what it sounded like.

May have something to do with the stalls in the barn always needing cleaning.

ARggghhhh....you got it good.

I learned early not to make that complaint. (Especially in the middle of summer.)

After Christmas I ended up haveing to do some fun and interesting thing like shovel the driveway. (Yes we had a snowblower but if I was that bored then the work would do me good.) In the summer it was even more fun, clean out the chicken coop or the hog pens. (Try either of those in 80°+ temps. Lots of fun.) Strangely enough my little brother or older sister never had to do these chores. (Then again they were never asked along on those three plus week hunting/camping trips either. :D )
