Kerry-Edwards visiting the Midwest

Last night in Kansas City there was a Kerry/Edwards rally. It was well-attended and well-received.

After, the train taking the candidates and families traveled towards Colorado for their next stop by way of Lawrence, KS. (Yea - my location!)

People in Lawrence waited for hours just to see the train. There were about 1000 folks waiting until about 1:00 a.m. hoping the train would stop. It didn't.

BUT, to my surprise, this morning the group announced that John Edwards and his family will be returning to Lawrence tomorrow.

Kansas is quite the Republican state. I've often joked with my sister (just to piss her off) that the only areas that vote Democrat are the ones that surround the University of Kansas; i.e. the intelligent, well-educated group. :D

I'm surprised the candidates are even visiting Kansas at all, but I am impressed that they believe a handful of Democrats stuck in the middle of Republican-land are important enough for a backtrack speech.

Anyway.

(We're going to the speech tomorrow.) :D
