anyone else watching the pbs docu-series?

i was young in his early days and i had forgotten how charismatic and how handsome he was. it's shocking that he never got tapped by hollywood for movies.

i'd also forgotten how badly he got fucked over by 'the establishment'. those honkies sure didn't like an uppity black man standing by his personal principles, they tried everything but couldn't beat him down.

and i'd also forgotten what a superb boxer he was. that man had it all.

I've held Ali in high regard for a long time. He was a superb boxer but much more than that a man of principle. During a time when the rich were buying their sons way out of the military or finding other ways to slime their way out of it, and some were going to Canada he stood his ground. He neither tried to run or hide. He stated his case, refused to go, and took what they dished out with his head high.

He was an American who inssited on remaining and American, but refused to do what he saw as a violation of his faith.
