You wish!:D

Senate Confirms Brett Kavanaugh To Supreme Court, Rejects Me Too Movement

WASHINGTON ― The Senate confirmed Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court on Saturday, ending an ugly, painful, weekslong Senate fight over whether women’s sexual misconduct allegations against him were credible and mattered.

Kavanaugh was narrowly confirmed, 50-48. Every Republican but one, Sen. Lisa Murkowski (Alaska), voted for him. Every Democrat but one, Sen. Joe Manchin (W.Va.), voted against him.

What better way to continue signaling the left's contempt for the U.S. and our way of life?

He'll be impeached based on his perjury during his confirmation. That is no way incompatible with our way of life.

I wish I had your crystal ball because in 2016, a lot of posters here knew, for a fact (think RoryN, for example), that the Democrats were going to keep the White House and were set to take the House back too.

It was going to be a landslide year.

And now those same types of voices believe that they are on the tip of a tsunami.

The people are sick to death of Trump already; they won't like him any better in 2020, and, despite his age, he won't let the nomination go to anyone else. And we are on the verge of a blue wave, at least.

Let us not forget all of the books written right after the first Obama election and the capture of the Congress about the permanent death of the Republican Party and how it was to be relegated to be nothing but a regional party of the deep south.

And then you began pissing on the backs of white men, telling the that it was a warm rain and that they, too, were being relegated to a minority status and that they should just get used to having no say in anything, ever again...

And still, as pointed out in the other thread(s), you just do not get how your exclusionary tactics and thinking put the hypocrisy into you absolute belief in tolerance and inclusion.

Perjury? Well, after being accused of sexual assault, indecent exposure and orchestrating gang rape, that seems to be pretty mild.
But of course you're full of shit.

And it would be exactly that, if not for the REDMAP project. It's sheer political malpractice that the Dems didn't see that coming or put defensive measures in place.

Actually, that never happened, and if you saw it happening you are delusional.

Only 50% of them according to the latest polling.
You need to stay away from these broad ascriptions of what others think merely because you believe that they think like you.

I will submit that many people are enjoying higher wages, bonuses and ballooning 401Ks and are seeing the economic numbers and not hating Trump the way you seem to.

*groan*

The gerrymandering trope yet again.
What was it President Obama crowed about at the beginning of his tenure?
Oh yeah, elections have consequences.

And that which you do once elected, and on a strictly partisan basis, seems to have consequences to, which did put Republicans in the position to not just oppose him, but to Congressional draw lines.

If you are not where you want to be today, thank the ACA...

If you are not where you want to be today, thank the ACA...

What's that got to do with this? Most people who were against it, were against it because they wanted single-payer instead -- at least, that's what the polls showed at the time.

51% of the public is not sick-to-,death. In fact I don't even think that they are tired of winning yet.

Seems to me someone's letting their hormones do the talking............again.

Ever get the impression that the millennial's are in a state of perpetual childhood? Like kids in a candy store, "I want this, I want that!" There seems to be no end to their needs/wants. Guaranteed jobs (the Soviets tried that and the Chinese are trying it as we speak with the expected results). Guaranteed incomes (seems that mommy and daddy cut off their allowances and they want the government to pick up the slack).

50% of them still live at home and of the 50% that don't mommy and daddy are paying their rent for them. There is no way that doesn't have an impact on their world view.

Gosh, if only someone head inform the Dems of the old saw about all politics being local and if any of them were aware of the fact that whoever controls the State House is controls districting..

Damnit those Democrats invented gerrymandering and have those districts exactly the way they wanted them. How dare the Republicans come in there and redraw them?

Wait a minute. I just had a thought. If democrats should be in charge why is it that the people in the various States elected Republicans to be in charge of where the lines are drawn?

Follow-up question:

If gerrymandering is such an effective Advantage how is it that the Republicans gain control of those Statehouse is overcoming the of course correctly and not gerrymandered district lines that were in place prior to them taking control? How did they win and take control back when the lines were where they need to be to make things every bit fair and square in elections?

A far better solution would be to let civil servants draw the districts, like in Canada.

A follow up observation. The republicans played by the rules when they were the minority party but now that they're the majority the democrats want to change the rules. That worked out so well for them when ole Harry changed the rules of the senate. :)

y'all are just a bunch of saints  what a bunch of crap ^

Sure. If you are a Democrat. Where do you suppose the sympathies of these civil "servants" lie?

I'm guessing they're not too fond of even past Republican scotus picks whose recent rulings about to make their entire unionization irrelevant.

Who do you suppose that these civil servants would rather "negotiate" their compensation packages with a republican Administration or one ran by a Democrat beholden to them for campaign contributions?

In Canada, at least, they seem to have a good track record of being nonpartisan.

We certainly can't expect an impartial, disinterested job to be done by an elected legislature of partisans.

This defies reality.
Most of the people who wanted single-payer went along with it knowing that it would lead to single payer.
What most people hated was the mandate.
