My money, and my support are with Kyrsten Sinema, running as an independent. The Democratic challenger is nothing but a party hack who has introduced nothing and done nothing for Arizona.. If former Governor Ducey entered the race on the Republican side, he would probably win. Otherwise, it is Sinema.

Ruben Gallego leading with 41%, followed by Republican Kari Lake with 37% and independent Sen. Kyrsten Sinema with 17%, said a source familiar with the meeting.

The source always matters.

Democrats naturally want to highlight polling that bolsters their case to donors. Lake supporters within the Trump wing of GOP want to make a case that she can win. The establishment wing of the party more aligned with McConnell don’t think Lake can win and want to show polling data that supports their argument for backing an alternative candidate. That’s why political operatives leak these secret “internal” polls. We’ll get a better sense of the AZ race when reputable independent firms within the state start running polls.
