I was going to point out that he's not saying anything that Martin Luther King III didn't already say, and found that that quote seems to have been scrubbed because I can't seem to find it anywhere on the internet.

Blacks have not been well served by the party of Jim Crowe, rebranding as the party fighting evil, racist Republicans, notwithstanding. Not talking to the GOP and giving the Dems that voting block gratis is stupid.

Part of the problem is all politics really are local and in the places with the largest concentrations of blacks you have the most corrupt local governments and the local pols are in a position to do more in the way of handouts contracts set asides and that sort of thing.. National politicians who do nothing at all for that group benefit from a straight party ticket.
