Kamala’s 2024 Presidential Run

In 1884, Presbyterian minister S.D. Burchard famously gave a speech in favor of Republican Presidential candidate former Secretary of State James G. Blaine (of Maine), in which he described the Democratic Party as the party of "rum, Romanism, and rebellion." Reportedly, this comment so incensed Irish Catholics that they turned out in droves to give Governor Grover Cleveland of New York (yeah, their very own Governor), the Democratic candidate, the victory and the White House.

As Mark Twain liked to say, "History doesn't always repeat itself, but it often rhymes."

Hinchcliffe might have the same effect against Trump with Latinos that Burchard had with Blaine and Irish Catholics. Burchard arguably cost Blaine New York (and he was ahead in Cleveland's home state), while Hinchcliffe might cost Trump Pennsylvania. One can only hope.

So, Trump is allowed to call America a "garbage can," but Biden can't refer to his voters as "garbage"? Nice double standard you got there.

It was a stupid thing to say, just move on.
Biden don’t misspeak!!
He was transcribed by an illiterate or two which was then broacast by the corporatocracy run by the oligarchy

Biden said “IS” not “ARE”

Hillary ? OK, she fucked up but years ago
The media wants to blow this up again. !!

Your opinion, and I don't care about it.
If that were true, you'd have stopped responding to my posts a long time ago. Now, if you think a statue of a Confederate general is somehow not racist, well, you are entitled to your opinion. But you've got to admit that's going to color your perspective quite a bit when it comes to claiming there at least might have been some very fine people who opposed tearing it down (albeit not so fine that they had the sense to steer clear of a protest organized by avowed white supremacists).

But the bottom line is this: if Trump had only condemned the bad actors, then you'd be able to say it was unfair to criticize his response. But he just had to throw in "very fine people on both sides", and it's only fair to question why he felt the need to say that. His track record suggests it's because he can never bring himself to condemn anyone completely whom he perceives as being on his side.

As for Biden's "garbage" comment, if the MAGAts don't want to be called garbage, maybe don't go around spreading lies like "The Haitians are eating the pets".

For full composure, I haven't read the bulk of the posts in this thread, and I presume you Trump haters are OK with Harris' campaign. From my perspective I can't imagine a more disastrous failing campaign ever conducted by any Presidential candidate. The conventional wisdom of who wins the Presidential election suggests that the base of each party cancels each other out and that whoever gets the majority of the independent and undecided voter wins the election. But I believe it’s the other way around. I submit that the independent and undecided voters cancel each other out; after all that’s why they are independent or undecided voters in the first place. Instead, the party that gets to turn out more of their base to vote than the other party will win the election.

I’m well aware that the vast majority of Democratic voters hate Trump, some with excess passion, as evidenced by the pages throughout this forum. However, I suggest that the appalling campaign run by the Harris-Walz team will give pause to the thoughtful Democratic voter. Certainly, if confronted by a polling caller will truthfully reply for Harris and that is why all the polling results are so close. But when it comes to crunch time at the voting booth I suspect some of the Democratic prone voters just will not vote Harris. They won't vote for Trump of course but will simply leave the box blank and concentrate on voting for the Senate and the House.

Arnold Schwarzenegger Endorses Kamala Harris: 'Don't Recognize Our Country'

Arnold Schwarzenegger on Wednesday announced he is endorsing for Vice President Kamala Harris for president.

"I'm sharing it with all of you because I think there are a lot of you who feel like I do. You don't recognize our country. And you are right to be furious," the actor and former California governor wrote on X (formerly Twitter).

Schwarzenegger, a longtime member of the Republican Party, added that he is supporting the Democratic presidential nominee because he "will always be an American before I am a Republican."

"That's why, this week, I am voting for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz," he said.

*chuckle*

The foreign guy who married his way into the DemocraTICK Party while lying to everyone and his own mother about being a conservative Republican.

How very Nixonian indeed.

🙄

Bonus triple score on this play, she's also an honest-to-Allah closet Marxist.

... I suggest that the appalling campaign run by the Harris-Walz team will give pause to the thoughtful Democratic voter....
The thoughtful Democrat voter is consumed by one though and it is Orange.

Nothing else matters in this election.
