Justice in Pakistan. Watch out ladies!!

A teenage girl in central Pakistan was gang raped as punishment after a tribal jury found that her brother had committed adultry with a woman from a higher tribe with greater social standing. After she was raped by 4 men, including 1 of the jurors, she was led through her village, naked. In order to encourage her to carry out her punishment, the tribal jury ruled that if she hadn't done what was ordered, all the women in her family would have been raped. The police said that they would look into the matter. I wouldn't hold my breath.

One country at a time, faerie. We have to settle Afghanistan down, then we'll deal with Pakistan. Remember, we had to talk them from enciting India into outright war with nukes and such. Keep them from killing their neighbors, then each other, then we try to teach them some basic respect for humanity.

I think the Saudi's, the Pakistani's are all terrible allies. But, if we turn our backs on them, the Chinese will simply step in for us with big smiles open-hands and first-generation Russian technology and weapons. Unbelievble as it seems, it appears as if the Pakastani police are going to arrest the rapists and prosecute them. Will wonders never cease? Perhaps the real wonder is that the world has gotten very small as a result of near instant communication.

"Tribes"! Precisely! All these nations are are a loose collection of different tribes that have been surrounded/seperated by arbitrarily-drawn "national" boundries. That's why no "agreement" will ever hold or be worth the paper it's written on........and also why this country's goofy idea of "nation-building" will always fail when employed anywhere from Northern Africa all the way across to India!
