.... and while I thought the movie was just okay (a little to long and slow at some parts, and definitely too rushed at the end) I think one scene is superb. It's the scene where Billy Bob Thornton's character (Hey, every movie with Billy bob is cool) plays the fiddle along to the Mexican military playing 'Deguello'.

It's just a great scene and a great song.

I wish I could get my hands on that song without having to buy the soundtrack, which was kinda lousy other than that.

But this scene rocked.

why do i read the film (by topic, haven't seen it yet) as having to do with American guts, 'righteous cause,' and unilateralism. just warped, i guess.

Don't tell me how it ends! I want to be surprised when I find out who wins!

I'll stop now.

Snoop, you'll more than likely be able to download it from one of the swapping progs, winmx or gnutella or whatever.

I already tried Kazaa with no results. Then again that would be illegal....

Snoopy, this is just for you, don't want to start anything up again old Alamo thread.

que te vaya bien, Perdita :rose:

Well, I knew I had better not start a conversation about historical correctness or agenda the film provides.

I only wanted to point out the beauty of that scene and music. (And the cool actor that IS Billy Bob, though I'll never understand why women swoon over him, especially Angelina)

I don't swoon over BBT but I do enjoy him as an actor. I don't know if he's really good or just has good directors. I've enjoyed most of his films, including "Bad Santa", but I won't see "The Alamo" just for him.

I think he's extraordinarily masculine and that goes a long way to attracting women, Snoop (no matter the all over package).

best, Perdita :)

De Guillo, also known as the cut throat song, has been done by tons of groups snoop. Many inthe public domain. Unless you are hoping to get the version with the fiddle overplaying it, you should be able to find it easily.
