Just shoot me now!

Steel now objects to Reid's remarks?

"Steele: My racial slur isn’t the same as Harry Reid’s"

Wow, who would of thought that either of the two quotes were offensive?
Well except those who get upset, just to be upset.

Besides that how is either comment a "slur"?

I thought Reid's comment was "contextual", in that he was explaining Obama's situation, while Steels was a a slightly dated, sophomoric throw away line.

As long as the media focuses on these trivial issues, we will never hear about the issues that really matter.

Why do I care? I don't, I just used the controversy to point out that the MSM is so focused on silly controversy that they don't cover real news. Stupid Caucasians.:(

Welfare as a way of life, ooookay.

I'm sure you remember when a girl of 15 or 16 would get knocked up, refuse to name the father or expectant father, and start collecting welfare for herself and the fetus - baby - child - adolescent. As time went on, she would have more children and collect welfare for them too. Her daughters, not knowing any better and knowing an easy life when they saw it, would emulate their mother and repeat the pattern. The result would be multiple generations on welfare.

Sons, who were not able to become pregnant, would be left to shift for themselves after turning 18, and would frequently turn to crime. Having no decent male role models, they would never have an inspiration to make something of themselves. Essentially, the people involved would have wasted lives, and never live up to their individual potentials. That's what I mean by "Welfare as a way of life." :(

Nice story you tell, Box. It sounds so plausible! Have you ever thought of becoming a writer? :rose:

It's not a story; it's the truth. Here is a link to a description of the form of welfare I am describing: http://www.center4research.org/poverty3.html

Google is our friend. I am sure you can find many more descriptions by googling "Welfare as a way of life" or "Multigenerational welfare" or similar topics.
