...it could have been worse...

You could be stuck at LaGuardia with an American Airlines ticket to nowhere.

Sorta happened to me two weeks ago. They cancelled my first flight to Chicago. Luckily I got on one a couple of hours later. Even got a window seat.

Wasn't hard as the Embraer has more window than aisle seats.

Ah yes, round one of the wiring fiasco. Why bother planning in advance and taking a few planes out of service at a time when you can screw all of your paying customers (not to mention your stockholders) by pulling them all at once.

Wait, what, what did I miss?

American Airlines cancled about a zillion flights today because of mechanical problems with their planes that they didn't inspect/fix properly the first time and had to reinspect/fix again.

Oops. :p

Well, look at it this way: I'd rather be stuck on the ground in LaGuardia than be in the air and hear, "Oops!"

:D

Hmmm...reminds me of the last words I do NOT want to hear before I die:

1: Oht-Oh...

2: Holy fuck...

3: Ooops...

4: I told you not to do that....

5: Hey, I wonder what this button does....

Don't forget:

6. Here, hold my beer and watch this...

What was that thump?

I heard a story about a Lot Polish nonstop from Krakow to O'Hare that had some cargo that never got secured. The pilots took off and felt a weight shift, and for some ungodly reason known only to them, they KEPT GOING, had to fly the plane manually for the entire 10 hour trip. Made it to Chicago safely, but they were about half dead when they finally came off the plane.

Along with everyone else.

Yeah...I heard that and I was actually confused...I can't figure out why they didn't turn around and head back to Krakow, or head towards Warsaw, or land in Vienna or Budapest or Berlin or Paris or Prague or anywhere else that was somewhat close by.

I probably would have spent the entire flight with my face in the barf bag.

Why is it that everytime I here that oxy-moron, American Airlines and maintenace, I remember the DC10 in 1977 that took off from O'Hare and an engine fell off. That is 270+ reasons why I will never fly American!

My sister-in-law is at a conference in St. Louis and, yes, her flight home is American Airlines. We've no idea if she's coming home tomorrow or not.
