Use the antiseptic stuff they tell you to rinse with. The swelling takes awhile to go down. I had mine pierced for a few years, but took it out when they got to be passe'

as soon as your swelling goes down, visit your piercer for a more appropriately sized ring. Most piercers will pierce with a 7/8 inch barbell with huge balls. You'd be suprised how much lighter, sleeker a 5/8th inch barbell will feel - and you won't talk as goofy, bite your balls less, etc. My roommate has a 1/2inch ring, but her tongue is ridiculously small - a 5/8 should be good...
