from a long trip and i have really missed my boyfriend, only my period came early this month. i'm desperate, can i make it go away????? :)

No. Once it starts, you're pretty much stuck with it.

What you can do is get some Instead menstrual cups from the store. They should have them with the pads and tampons in Walmart and major drug stores. It can take some practice to get them to sit correctly and catch the blood, but as long as you get it mostly right, it should impede things to the point where foreplay and such won't be messy.

We can't use them during sex because my cervix sits too low during my period and he bumps the cup, but sex itself without any protection isn't usually a messy endeavor anyway. Using a condom, putting a towel down or having sex in the shower really helps if there's likely to be some mess.

You can do what the prostitutes did in the parlour I was a receptionist at - they used pieces of sea sponge which you can buy at any chemist. Moisten with sterile water (cooled boiled water is ok) and insert as high as you can. They're soft and guys can't feel them. To remove just squat and you should be able to reach with your fingers, or tie a bit of cotton around it before insertion.

As long as you only use this method occasionally there shouldn't be any problems.

Awesome idea, Bandit! :rose:

My periods have been shorter lately and I haven't felt like doing much during them anyway, but I'm definitely going to keep this in mind for long sessions in the future.

I'd probably buy one of the ones you linked to, or something else specifically for menstruation. I have no idea where the sponges in the stores have been, and I'm guessing they're soaked in chemicals or something when they come out of the sea.

Erika you need to use a natural sponge. I used to use them regularly during my periods when I was your age. Just take out and rinse well then reinsert.

Yeah, I wasn't talking about cleaning synthetic sponges. :D Most of the time, the natural sponges in the drug store are just sitting out in the bath section for everyone to touch, and I bet they're treated with something that's not pussy-compatible before that. I'm just not wild about putting something that's been touched by a ton of strangers in my body, but I may try the menstrual sponges for occasional use, on the assumption they're cleaner than the unpackaged sea sponges I might get in the regular store. I noticed Bandit's first link mentioned them being sold as cosmetic sponges in natural food stores, so I may look into that avenue.

My periods pretty heavy, but if I wanna get it out the way for a little while, I do strenuous exercise, or some yoga. I know it sounds weird, but the yoga does control the flow a little. It works on me anyway... BTW, welcome to Lit!
