Jake Thompson: http://eatdrinkdatelaughpray.files.wordpress.com/2010/07/sexy-intellectual-guy.jpg

Jake lived an uneventful life. He woke up, he showered and dressed, went to school, came home and did homework, played video games, went to sleep, and that was it. He was happy with it too. Very little stress and nothing to distract him from soon becoming a student at Harvard Medical. He wanted to be a plastic surgon. He loved the show Nip/Tuck and he wanted to be just like those guys, hopefully with less drama. He wasn't big with the ladies but he wasn't rich yet, all that would change when he was a doctor.

Sadly Jake was probably one of the only guys, if not THE only guy, still a virgin in college. Doing well in school and having a knack for getting walked on by people didn't exactly make for a successful formula of attraction. He supposed he wasn't a bad looking guy, plain maybe and certainly not handsome, but not bad looking. He really wanted a girlfriend, the sooner the better. The years of book learning solitude were getting to him and it would be nice to have some female company once in a while.

He was packing up his backpack, zipping his notes away from Spanish class. He was getting rather fluent in Spanish a skill which he would need with the rate of immigration in the country. He focused hard in class and even after, never one to loose track of what needed to be done. Straight-A's didn't come to those who couldn't focus.

Jake was all about focus. At that moment his focus was getting back to his dorm to study for the Biology mid-term on Anatomy. Talk about a grueling subject for him. It was ironic that despite Jake's good grades the one subject he faltered on was the one subject his stupid jock peers did very well at because of their "hands on" experience with Anatomy.

Nothing a little studying couldn't handle, he thought to himself. Jake was lost in the thoughts of Anatomy and what kind of pizza he was going to have delivered for dinner. As a result he didn't notice the woman standing in front of him until he bumped into her and fell on his face. He blushed bright red, cursing himself. After all he was supposed to be a man and yet when he bumps into a woman he was the jackass that fell on his ass.

As he began to get to his feet his gazed landed on her feet and rose slowly up her bare legs until he reached her short skirt and ran further up to her body, where a little bit of her belly could be seen under the seam of her top. When he realized he was staring he jerked his eyes up to hers. To his surprise she was smiling at him! Smiling!? Girls didn't do that to him, in fact they never even looked at him.

Jake blinked and tried to think of something to say. He was never smooth with the ladies like some of the jocks were, but that was why he was working so hard to become that rich and famous doctor. Money would make his social skills irrelevant. Perhaps that was the wrong attitude to have, but if nothing else would work for him it remained his only hope.

He swallowed and licked his lips, trying to fight back is irritation. His frustrations where with himself not with this wonderfully built female. "Sorry, I wasn't looking." He said, trying hard to look her in the eyes without feeling like a fool.

"It's okay!" came the cheery voice. "I should have been paying attention as well."

Selina had a million dollar smile and an athlete's body to go with it. She looked like she should have been one of the most popular girls on campus - and she was. And wasn't, at the same time. She had gotten into the school on her sports talent, and so more than anything, she spent a lot of time on the court or in the gym, making sure she stayed in shape.

Her idea of a good time was a bad movie, good food, and maybe the occasional campus band. Not that she had a lot of free time, really. There was always a tournament or a final or training or something, and it was beginning to wear on her just a little.

But she wasn't one for a lot of hanging out and parties. The jocks on campus irritated her, and to them, she was a stuck up bitch.

Well, to most people, she seemed like she was a stuck up bitch. The truth was, well, Selina was shy. She had been a late bloomer - and for the longest time, was nothing but skin and bones and muscle. It was only lately that her body had filled out into one that many envied. And it would be just his luck that he would catch her when she wasn't on her way to the gym. She was headed out to town, just to get off campus and clear her head. The fact of the matter was, she was scared. The strain of the sport and trying to juggle her grades was beginning to be too much, and her grades were dropping. Not that she was dumb by any means - there just wasn't enough time in the day, and like any student - she was only human. Some subjects just...baffled her.

She wore a short blue jean skirt and black converse shoes with knee high white socks, striped red at the top. A tight fitting white shirt completed her look and made her brown skin look luminous. Her hair was pulled back into a long ponytail that swept her shoulders with her dark copper colored hair.

"Here," and she reached out to help straighten out his glasses. "There. That's better."

She recognized him, but didn't know his name. He seemed to be one of those types that never talked more than they had to, almost as if they were scared of being heard. He seemed nice enough, though.

Jake almost flinched when she reached out to adjust his glasses. Selina was well known on campus, and the reputation was rather mixed. Jake didn't know how much of it was true and how much was people just talking shit, but he almost thought she would slap him or start yelling at him at the very least.

It was a slight surprise when she simply fixed his glasses and told him that it was all cool. It had been an accident after all and he simply just wanted to get back to class.

He adjusted his calculus book and gave Selina a weak smile and said, "Ok cool." Then he pushed past her to head to his after school activity, the library. Everyday after school Jake spent at least an hour in the library doing his homework. Even though he was what people would call a nerd, he hated doing schoolwork at home. So he spent a little time after school, doing his homework so that he could relax when he went home.

Subjects came easily to Jake. So long as he did the work he often didn't have to study for tests much, he tended to retain the information rather well. But that too had a price, his social skills were complete bunk. He had his group of friends, sort of. Fellow nerds tended to dispurse from each other's company after school hours. When it came to talking to people or, god forbid, girls, he was a complete buffoon.

By the time he got to the library the incident was Selina was forgotten. He took his favorite seat in the back and cracked open his books. "Time to master the Algarhythm." He muttered.

Selina wasn't the type to be forgotten for long.

A few tables away from him in the library, there she was. She had a stack of calculus books beside her, most along the lines of "Calculus for Dummies!" Put her in an English Lit or a science class, and she was gold - in fact, part of the reason why she was so pressed for time was that she tutored for most of those courses as well. But math? It just left her head in circles.

With a long sigh, she tilted her head back, her fuzzy hair wafting airly about her shoulders. "What am I gonna do....?"

Maybe a quick walk would help her register some of the numbers. Standing up, she stretched, and popped her back. Man. The library had to have some of the most uncomfortable chairs known to man. If the money in the school was funneled more towards the students than the sports team, she'd imagine that they would have fine Italian leather recliners in the building. Most of the time, though, when she was in the library, she was a "Stack Rat" - she liked going down to the basement and laying on her stomach between the stacks, enjoying Shakespeare or Byron.

Walking past him, she would have gone by unnoticed, but now it was her turn to bump into him. She ran into his table, her head too in the clouds to notice where she was going.

"Ooowww...." She paused, rubbing at her thigh. That was going to leave a bruise. "Oh, hey, I'm sorry for running into your table.....Oh, it's you again," and her voice took on a relieved tone. Laughing a little, her dark brown eyes caught the title of the book in his hands. "You understand all of that stuff? Must be nice! I'm having the WORST time in class," and she rubbed the back of her neck, embarrassed. "I didn't notice your name with the rest of the tutors - do you tutor on the side?"

Jake jerked back in his seat as she bumped the table, causing the x he was writing to become a fucked up y. He winced as she rubbed her thigh, having bumped the corner of the table he figured that probably hurt. He gave her a gentle shy smile, but didn't respond to her injury. Truth was he didn't really know what to say, plus she was a very beautiful girl and that made it harder for his brain to form words.

Then she asked if he was a tutor and he looked up again. His hand found the rim of his glasses and he adjusted them out of nervous habit. "Tutor? Oh..uh, not really." He said, looking back at his paper. "I just do the work. I don't really like to tutor, I've been well, abused doing that before. So I just do my own stuff now." He said.

It was true. During his freshman year, Jake had been all about trying to be nice. Especially to the popular kids. He figured if he helped them get good grades, then they wouldn't make fun of him or insult him like they have through middle school. He helped them and still they left him isolated and fucked with him in the locker room, the hall, class if they could get away with it. He would never do that shit again. If they wanted to take advantage of him, then they could fucking fail and enjoy working McJobs for the rest of their lives.

"That sucks! I totally know how that is," and without even asking, she sat down next to him. That's the type of girl she was. She thought that standing up and having a conversation was rude, anyway.

"I tutor for the English Literature classes, and once a week, someone asks me to write a paper for them. It totally blows. Guess that's why they call me a bitch, but you know, you gotta do the work. That's the whole point of everything. Heeyyy..." she said, scooting closer to him. "I've got an idea. I can't tell shit from shineola for this class, and I really need the help. Would you mind tutoring me? I'm a little broke..."

Okay, very broke. Unlike most students, she didn't work a myriad of jobs. The little money she made tutoring and helping out at high schools with sports kept her in pocket money and kept her fed, but everything else was paid for with her scholarship.

The very same scholarship that she currently stood to lose.

"But I'm sure we could find something to agree on as far as payment goes. Fair is fair, and to be honest, I'm actually not as dumb as some people would like to say I was. You know!" she stopped, mid sentence, "I haven't even introduced myself. I'm Selina Heinlein. What's your name?"

Jake blinked in confusion as she just sat down with him. Did she not just hear him say he didn't tutor people? He wanted to roll his eyes but didn't have the guts to do such a thing in front of her. It was just typical of people like her, to think they could be the exception to the rule. He didn't tutor anymore, but of course he would make an exception for the captain of the volleyball team and royal hottie Selina.

Jake sighed and gave her a weak smile, "I'm Jake Thompson."

He paused and looked down at his work, "Look I understand that you need help. But I don't tutor anymore. I just don't, Calculus takes a lot of time and you're basically saying you can't pay anything."

Jake leaned forward and looked back up at her, "I want to be the nice guy here, I do." He shook his head softly, "But being the nice guy has gotten me nothing but run over you know? Girls don't like the nice guy, they wanna be the girlfriend of the jerk or the bad guy, which leaves me high and dry. So I'm sorry Selina, but I can't help you."

Maybe if Selina told her friends that Jake had been bad enough to turn her down, they would think he was a tougher guy then they thought and might show him some interest. God, he had never even gotten to kiss a girl before. He was starting to find himself desperate.

Well, Selina wasn't the type to take "no" for an answer, considering that her college career rested on this one piddling class.

"Look, Jake, I totally understand where you're coming from. It sucks having people use you; trust me, I've been there." She held his gaze now, looking straight into his blue eyes. God, they were pretty. Shame that he seemed to hide them. Not that the glasses were a bad thing. It was hard not to really take a look at him now. He was a cute kid.

"And that's not true. Girls like nice guys. The problem is, the nice guys usually either never say anything, or they want something for just being a nice guy. The thing is with the opposite sex is that it takes work. Not like I really know what I'm talking about, though. I can't get a date to save my life," and she grinned at him. "But I really can't take 'no' for an answer. I totally know that you need some form of compensation, and no, I can't really pay you. Not in money, anyway. Is there something else I can do? I'm a pretty good cook. Maybe I could show you how to work out? I don't even really know. Please believe me that I'm not asking you to do anything for free."

She spoke earnestly enough, leaning closer to him. She smelled faintly of roses, and of working outside.

Jake took a deep breath as she leaned closer to him, the scent of her perfume hit him hard and he trembled. He wasn't used to being this close to a woman, especially not a beautiful one like Selina. The angle in which she leaned toward him let him get a good look right down her cleavage. Her skin looked so smooth and soft, her breasts were like two soft clouds and he wanted them. Well he really wanted any breasts really, Jake was a lonely and horny nerd.

His eyes dipped and then jerked back up. He took another deep breath and swallowed hard, "Well, maybe there's something we can work out. I've umm, never um. Okay hold on." He opened his mouth again to say something, but couldn't just come out and say it.

Then he turned to his binder and he jerked a piece of paper from his binder. On it he wrote I'll give you a lesson if you let me see your breasts. Then he read the note, four times while chewing his lip before he slowly pushed the piece of the paper toward her.

He braced for her to hit him. But hey, if he didn't show he had nuts, then he'd never get to use his nuts. Besides if she said no, then he didn't lose anything.

She raised an eyebrow, fighting the urge to laugh as he slipped her the note. What was he, twelve?

Then she read it.

She looked at it, then him, then at the note, then at him again. "Fine," she said. "But I better ace this next test or you'll need more than glasses to see straight," and she shrugged. On occasion, she posed nude for art classes around town. Showing him her breasts was no big deal for her. "But if this is how you go about trying to get a girl to date you, I'm not surprised that it hasn't worked out well for you."

Jake hung his head in shame and then realized that she had agreed to it. He blinked and looked up at her, "Wait, you serious?" He couldn't help but let the slow spread of a smile appear on his face. She kinda berated him about his attitude and his lack of ever getting a date.

He shrugged and glanced around, "Yeah well, I can't say I've done this before." He shut his book and put his binder away, "If you focus, you'll get an A. I can't promise an A though, I can only show you what you need to know. Besides I have figured out the trick to making these problems easy."

He grabbed his backpack and stood from the chair. "I have to do some stuff this afternoon, but if you're free tomorrow you could come over to my house and I'll see where you are at with advanced mathmatics."

"Yeah, why not? They're just tits. Trust me, you get used to them after a while," and she gave him another smile with a wink. "Anyone with an internet connection has seen a set or two. I've got practice till about 4, but I'll be around after that time. Thanks, Jake, I really appreciate it."

Hell, she had gotten off easier than she thought she would. All he wanted to see were her breasts. That wasn't a big deal. Although she wondered why, though, really. It didn't make much sense - he could have seen anyone's. Hm. Probably at the end of the day, it didn't matter who's breasts, just anyone's breasts would have done. Her ego stung, but she shook her head. Whatever. Guys like him never went after girls like her, anyway.

At a little after 4 the next day, she showed up at his house, and knocked on his door. When he opened it, he may not have known how to react. She had her backpack slung over her shoulder, and she was dressed in a tight Spiderman shirt with equally tight, very short blue jean shorts. Like the other day, she had on knee high socks with blue strips, and red converse shoes.

"Hey there, sorry I'm a little late, I wanted to shower before I came over. I figured you didn't want me to stink up the house after practice!" Again, she smelled like roses and of a sunny day.

Really, she had pushed herself extra hard at practice. The thought of failing the class scared her, the thought of leaving her fate up to this guy scared her, showing her breasts to a stranger in his own home scared her. Maybe with a hard work out, it would be easier for her to forget how much of her life was getting out of control.

Maybe she was mistaken in thinking he was cure the day before. A nice pair of eyes didn't mean much if he turned out to be a royal creep, nice guy or not. Well, he wasn't getting the goods until she was certain that she could handle the material for the next test.

Jake was uneasy all day. He knew that something he had never experienced before was going to happen in his home this afternoon. Selina was coming over, coming to his room. Shit there was going to be a girl in his room, topless. He was practically jittering with nerves and excitement.

The clock could not have gotten slower than it had passed all day long. Finally the final bell rang and Jake raced home, like a new video game was waiting for him to play. He raced up to his room the moment he burst through the door.

Jake wanted to make this official and he would hold up his part of the deal. He set out his Calculus book and extra sheets of paper. Then he decided to take a shower, wanting to smell fresh for Selina when she came over. Then again that was a big IF she came over. There was still a chance that she wouldn't come over, she could back out at anytime.

After he was dressed and clean, he settled in to wash TV for a while. A few minutes after four, the doorbell rang. Jake got up and answered the door with a smile, "Hey Selina, come on in." He said, stepping back so she could enter.

He gestured up the stairs, "I have the math station set up in my room." Then he winced and asked, "Math station sounds really stupid doesn't it?"

Despite the flub, Jake took her up to his room and began to teach her his trick for solving complex math problems.

Surprisingly enough, she laughed. "No, I think it's cute," and she followed him up the stairs. Setting her backpack down by the door, she took a seat next to him as they started going over the math problems.

_______________

A few hours later, Selina stretched. "Man, Jake, you are a life saver." Far from proving herself to be a brainless jock, she had picked up on what he taught her with surprising ease. Once she was able to handle a few of the more difficult problems on her own, she considered the two of them done. At least for the night.

"All right, Jake, a deal's a deal. I feel pretty confident...." And she grinned at him again. Scooting back, she took off her shirt with ease, showcasing her breasts to him. Though it would be hard to tell her bra size by just looking, she had lovely breasts, held by a purple bra trimmed with lace. "You'll see them without the bra if I get an A on this test," and she smiled at him. After all, he didn't say HOW he wanted to see her breasts; just that he wanted to see them. And now he was.

Again, she figured it wasn't that he cared that they were HER breasts; any breasts would have done. At this rate, she could keep her bruised ego in tact, though she shouldn't have been surprised. He was like all the other guys at the end of the day - a mind only on one thing. But at least at this rate, she was able to get something out of him as well.

Pretty eyes or not - what an ass.

Jake was glad that he didn't have to ask her to show him her tits. Hell if she hadn't done it on her own, he never would have had the courage to ask her again for it. He wouldn't have even asked to see her tits without the bra had she not mentioned it.

She whipped off her top and there they were. His eyes went wide as he gocked at her. Wow, her breasts looked incredible, the swells of her breasts fit her body wonderfully, then his eyes found her firm flat stomach and he seriously felt his balls start to tingle.

His eyes mentally clicked as he took as many mental pictures as he could.

"You're beautiful." He told her.

Then he smiled and said, "Look no worries. You've got those problems in the bag Selina. Just remember my trick and if it helps you try to remember the acronym, M.A.T.H. and use the processes." He told her.

He pointed at the spiderman shirt. "By the way, great shirt."

"Thanks, but I'm pretty sure you said that because my shirt's off." She pulled her shirt back on, and gave him a good-natured smile. She was on to him, but she couldn't help but to feel sorry for him. She'd heard how the other kids talked about him, and he just never stood up for himself. Poor guy. This was probably the closest he was ever going to get to a girl unless he learned how to speak up and stand up for himself.

"Thanks. I've always had a soft spot for Peter Parker. Smart, funny, secretly saves the world, what's not to like?"

Scooping up the papers that she had used while they worked together, she put them in her backpack. Looking over her shoulder at him, she made a slight face.

"So, why don't you ever stand up for yourself?"

Jake looked up at her with a confused look in his eyes, "What do you mean?" Then he shook his head, "Okay I know what you mean but," He sighed and leaned back in his chair. "Look Selina, I don't care what people think anymore. I've been shit on my entire life, I'm a nerd it comes with the territory. If I stand up for myself what does that get me? Respect? Not likely. Maybe if I had done it years ago I might have had a chance to change things, but in eight months I'll never see those fucks ever again. I'm not going to suddenly change their opinion of me and it's not worth the time to try."

"I have faith that my life will work out better than any of the 'cool kids' so long as I keep perfect grades and work hard." He said with a smile.

Jake shook his head and sighed, "I don't want to be a dick Selina, honestly I was never expecting you to flash me I just set this up to make sure you wouldn't take me for granted. Tell you what, how about if you get an A on this test, you come back here and make me dinner? Sound good?"

"Soooo...lemme guess, you think by getting rich and famous by using your brains that everyone will respect you, right? Lemme tell you, as one of the 'popular' kids, that's a lie. People will walk all over you as long as you let them. It sucks, because everyone just wants to be liked at the end of the day. But you have to show them something about yourself that's special for them to even notice you. You think people care that I make good grades in English? Nope, they just want to see me smack that ball around the court."

She crossed the room to stand in front of him again, leaning down to really get a good look at him. For a long moment, her dark brown eyes bored into his clear blue ones.

"So, kiddo," and her voice seemed to drip from her full lips, "You gotta learn to like yourself, go from there. Although, if it was that easy, I'd be in a better position myself." She stood back up, straightening out her shirt again. Poor kid. Not like she should be calling anyone "poor", though. She had her own battles to fight, but it was hard not to feel her heart go out to him. He sounded like he'd really had it rough, and rather than fighting back, found it easier to lay down and blend in.

"Jake, you really have a gift. I'm absolutely terrible at this stuff, but a few hours with you, I feel more confident in my ability to handle this class than I have all semester. That's an amazing thing. I don't think you should sell yourself short by any means."

Busted. Her face flushed, her mouth dropped open, and all she could do was shake her head. So she didn't have to flash him. That little....and here she was, thinking that he was the scum of the earth or just some completely irredeemable loser. Leaning forward, she gently kissed his cheek.

"Fine. The flash is on me. Extra incentive to keep helping me out," and she grinned at him as she went to pick up her back pack again. Slinging it over her shoulder, she nodded. "Sure, I can do dinner if I get an A. But you have to do something for me. I've got a big game tomorrow. Come out and support me, and I'll treat you to a drink after. Sound good?"

Jake watched her for a long moment. Was she serious? She wanted him to come to a game and sit amongst the general populace. He groaned inwardly and nodded, "Alright I'll be there." Shit what was he thinking. He didnt want to be out with the school, well those that would show to a volleyball game. Thank God she wasnt a cheerleader and was asking him to see a football game.

After she left Jake felt like he had in part done a good thing. He felt a little guilty for the flash, but damn she had a amazing body. Though in the end, she had asked for help and he had given it, and it looked liked it wasnt going to cost him anything but sitting through a sporting event.

What where the rules to volleyball? Jake turned on his computer and began to read up on it so he would at least know what he was watching tomorrow.

The volleyball game wasnt as packed as he fear it would be. If the crowd had gathered on only one side they might have filled one set of stands completely. Maybe that was why she needed support, more people in the crowd was a good thing for sports. He had taken the liberty to bring a few snacks and a soda for the game.

He lost interest in the food quickly as the girls began to play. They leapt and grunted as they sove and jumped for the ball. The thud of the ball against their arm thumped through the gym with an audible echo. Jake marveled at the way Selina moved. She was all over the court. Like a master of the game hardly anything got by her, no wonder she was captain.

Jake smiled softly as he watched, no one bothered him and the game was fun to watch in a none perverted kind of perverted way. This wasnt so bad.

It was a mid-season game, so the crowd was relatively thin. She figured he might be a little shy, which is why she invited him to this game as opposed to a final. Even though it wasn't a high profile game, she still commanded the court as if the whole team's success depended on it.

Out on the court, she was a completely different person. Though she was wearing miniscule purple shorts with a loose white and yellow top (the school colors, of course), her sex appeal was somewhat diminished by her barking orders to the other players and the speed and power in which she returned serves. Despite being the best on the team, she was a fair player - never a ball hog, and always there to pat another team mate on the back.

They'd win this game, 10 to 6.

____________

Afterwards, she had showered and changed, looking for Jake among the stands. She wore a loose-fitting gray tank top, blue jean shorts, and her typical white knee high socks and tennis shoes. Spying him in the bleachers, she waved and hopped over to him.

"Hey Jake! Thanks for coming out! I really appreciate it!" As she spoke to him, the other players on the team (all leaving the locker room), looked over at the two of them with a mix of surprise, disgust, and interest. The volleyball team was a mixed bag as far as the players went, but Selina had made a few honest friends. The rest of them, well, they were just as Jake said they were.

"So, did you have an idea of where you want to go? I said I'd treat you to a drink," and she sat down beside him.

Jake couldnt help but smile at Selina as she bounced over to him. The motion was surprisingly girlie and out of place after just watching her beast it up on the court. Her top did nothing to prevent her breasts from bouncing as she came over, Jake tried to hide the fact that he looked and she thankfully didnt say anything to him.

She sat beside him and asked where he wanted to go get a drink to which he shrugged, "I was actually thinking a drink and dinner at Toppers." Toppers was well known to anyone and everyone in town. Best pizza you could get outside of New York and they were open late every night which gave them a lot of business during the party season....or weekends as most people called it.

Plus it was close to the school campus.

"I mean you probably could eat three pizzas after that work out you put on out there. Christ you are a beast. They should pay you to do that. Or give you an Olympic medal." He said.

She laughed, patting his back.

"All part and partial to the whole sports scholarship gig. Unlike some of my teammates, though, I'm making sure that I have a solid skill set to fall back on. I think it might be nice to teach - doing something to give back at least."

She stood up, offering him her hand as she helped him to stand as well. "Toppers sounds good. It might be slim pickings tonight socially, but I'm taking that it might be a good thing for you."

______________

True to what she said, Topper's was surprisingly quiet that night. Flopping down at the bar, she crossed her long legs and handed a menu to him.

"Pick your poison - it's on me. I took that test today, by the way - I'll be getting my score back tomorrow. I'm feeling pretty good about it. I seriously could kiss you."

Skimming the menu herself, she placed her order. Noticeably enough, she didn't order any alcohol. "So, Jake, aside from being awesome at math, what else do you do? What do you study here?"

Jake slid into a stool beside her and took the menu she handed, "Poison huh?" He smirked and took a deep breath. He was never much of a drinker, something about it just didn't appeal to him. There was a few times he drank with some dungeons and dragon buddies of his and they liked to slay fictional dragons drunk.

He smiled at her and nodded, "A kiss huh?" He laughed and gave her a nudge, "Let's start with a Jack and coke, and maybe save the kiss for the midterm."

The bartender came up and took their order for drinks. "What do you like on your pizza? I gotta be honest, I'm not a fan of the those tiny salty fish. Kidding on the kiss by the way."

He took a deep breath and slowly let it out, "Yeah math. I guess, I'm not that good at math...err actually I'm really good. But uh, you know it's just paying attention I guess." He groaned and closed his eyes for a second, "You know I have this thing that I do, in my head I can make problems easier you know? It doesn't matter the subject, I can somehow make things seem simple." He paused, "Umm, I thought it would be a good idea to study astro physics."

For a long moment he paused, then slowly he smirked at her, "I'm just shitting you, I'm studying computer programing."

"Oh, I like my pizzas pretty boring - bacon and red onion. Good stuff, trust me. I'll have a coke," she added to the waiter. She didn't drink during the week; actually, she rarely drank to begin with. Yet another reason why she didn't fit in with the rest of the team all that well.

At his mention of astrophysics, her eyes widened. Then she realized he was joking, and she nudged him with her elbow. "Oh, you got me going there. That's a mean trick! I've got the whole volleyball thing going for me, but I think I'd like to be an English teacher. I just really dig the classics and I love the way words work. You want to know one of my favorite words? 'Hoary.' Sounds totally dirty but it isn't. What are you planning to do after you graduate? What are your hobbies?"

Wasn't she just a regular Chatty Cathy? Well, Selina could be very outgoing once she was trying to get to know someone. She was always open and eager to make friends - and once people got used to how she really was, it was pretty easy for her. And to be honest, she was enjoying getting him to come out of his shell. She really was grateful for his help, and she was hoping that they could actually, well, be friends.

This felt nice, the talking. As much as he didn't want to believe he could be around her and relax, it was actually happening. She seemed truly interested in him too, like she wanted to know who he was, which was funny because she didn't know him from Adam two days ago. The fact that he had almost seen her topless was a plus too, but he wasn't going to come out and tell her that.

He leaned back a little and took a sip of his drink, the burn carefully masked behind the flavor of coke. "You mean besides work right? I don't know, I mean in school people have a different lifestyle than afterwards right? Right now, you know I don't get out much. I've been satisfied with simply playing Xbox, or World of Warcraft, I love me some World of Warcraft." He glanced over at her, the look on her face made him smile, "Oh right, I forgot to remind you, I'm a nerd." He winked.

"After school, I hope to get a good job, maybe doing IT or programing for Google or something. Then maybe meet a nice girl, get married, have kids, that whole white picket fence thing." He said looking into his glass.

Uneased a little by what he had revealed he turned the tables on her, "So what about you? You wanna be a teacher really? I mean watching you on that court today you would have made me think you'd go pro." He paused and looked up for a second, "They have pro volleyball right? I could have sworn I've seen it on ESPN once."

Jake shrugged and turned toward her, "The teacher thing is cool though, if you like literature so much though have you given any thought about writing? Maybe you could be the next Stephanie Meyer, only you know not write crap about sparkling vampires."
