president bush addressed the world today regarding the trouble between israel and palestine...he stated his stance succinctly, explained some of the consequenses if the two parties envolved continued on their current paths and described what he hoped to achieve by sending mr. powell over there representing the U.S..

now, he did use one or two words that contained more than two syllables...and i struggled a little bit but i worked it out and pretty much understood what he was saying...and when he was finished saying it two FUCKWADS CAME ON AND TOLD ME WHAT HE SAID....AAARRRGGGGHHHH....

do they really not think that we understand...why do they trespass on our intelligence that way...who do we complain to...i promise i understand...AAARRRGGGHHH...

ok, i feel better now..

I only heard what I think I heard.

When you read some of the misinformation posted here then, sometimes, you think maybe they do need it explained to them.

In the public interest I will now attempt to tell you what unclej just said:

There are a bunch of fuckwads who get paid big bucks to insult our intelligence.

Pundits, Analysts and other dregs...

That's how the idiots justify their overpaid, over-schooled and under-educated existence...

Bring back the Cronkites, MacNeils and Huntleys - at least they had SOMETHING to say... :D

And yes, my cereal was quite salty this morning!

thank you dillinger...couldn't have said it better myself...come to think of it..i didn't say it better myself...but i feel better for having said it....myself...?

I said what I said til I changed it.

Of course, you have to remember they are interpreting political-speak. A politician will say one thing in the morning, another thing at noon, and something completely different come evening. It's not always easy to keep it all straight.

mensa, i agree with what you're saying but what frosts my balls are days like today...they weren't interpreting political speak, they weren't explaining some complicated theory or strategy that might need explaining...they were repeating exactly what he said as though i didn't just hear him say it...and they do it all the time...

Ditch the networks

Watch C-Span for that kind of thing. Their pundits actually have something to say and take calls from viewers for opinions. There's also the added bonus of not having the talking heads "talk" us through the obvious, i.e. "The President is walking up to the podium now..."

I know. Irritating, isn't it? I figure they just got into a habit they can't break.

is that what you mean, man?

You have a fine career in journalism ahead of you.:D

ok, that one got me to laughing scylis... which is what i should have been doing all along but i don't rant often and this just happens to be one major soap box that i'll jump on in a heartbeat as we like to say here in texas...

good advice, R66G

Yeah, what's with the radio commentary, anyway? "The president has stopped on his way down the aisle to shake hands with..." Shut the fuck up, I'm not blind or I wouldn't be watching the godforsaken TV in the first place, rachet-jaw.

next thing you know they'll add fashion commentary...the republicans are all dressed in blue suits with yellow power ties and the democrats have opted for blue suits with red power ties....yadahyadahyadah (is that how you spell yadahyadahyadah?)

Ahhhh... but the Lowest Common denominator rules, Sir Knight.

A fine example of

How many people does it take to answer a rhetorical question...

And they do it in that hushed, awed, secretive voice, as though handshaking with the audience were a historic event. I'm always half expecting them to say, "We've secretly replaced the President's regular coffee with Folger's Crystals...let's see if he notices."
