Just A Support Thread

I would expect Harlequin to pay reasonably well, not least because their distribution numbers are much higher compared to most imprints. One of us will have to get published and see, evidently.

Thanks Kitty! I have questions to ask like: How many stories can you submit? Can you use a pseudonym? And other ones too. Just can't think of them right now. *hehe* I'm assuming we'd have to take our stories down from Lit. if we are going to submit something elsewhere like this. I wonder if certain seasons make it too narrow. Hmm, lots of thoughts!

Haha, I love horses. And I know they like me for I can connect with them so easily. A few times I've been able to connect to horses that normally aren't friendly with people hehe.

I once tried to submit my story to one of Harlequin's lines called Luna and they didn't accept it. It's okay though.

Zodia, you have the touch. :) Awesome! Ahh, if I only I had a 100,000 word novel *hehe* Alas, most of my works are 15,000 and under. Which is why this Spice Briefs category is so appealing!

Hehe thanks. I love animals in general.

I think that's cool that you can do short stories. There's one writing award I wish I could but it has a # of words limit and I calculated the number and my stories are always way past that limit haha.

It cracked me up when I was reading the page... they want dirty talk! lol. :)
I looked at my boyfriend and said, "Well, I guess they don't want to hear 'quivering member'. Apparently they want 'cock'." LOL.

....I am hoping to get some writing done here shortly.. I've got a small window of time and I'm gonna take advantage. :p

Wow...
I love going through old stories I have started, lol.
My vampire story people do not want to have sex today. Go figure.

There was a story I started a looong time ago, and my best friend was jealous; she wanted to be in it too! lol. So I added her.
Which made a completely new story... So I copy and pasted and started this one to appease her.. and it took on a life of it's own.
We called it 'the book' because it got so long. :p
Well, I opened 'the book' this morning, and read all 46 pages of it. Wow. I don't think I've ever written anything with so much drama, lol.
I don't remember exactly where I planned to take it at the point I left off, but I've got a handful of new ideas now. :nana:

Does anyone else hop from story to story, or do you have to start one and finish it before you can move on?
On any given day I can work on a handful of stories... other times one is screaming at me to be written. :)

Oh, and Happy Valentine's Day! :rose:

Oh, and Happy Valentine's Day! :rose:

I have a whole closet filled with Chapter 1's.

Happy Valentine's Day!

I start lots of stories and finish very few of them. The ones I only start are good practise for longer ones, though.

I find it helps to have one long project going and write shorts alongside it. It's a good way of channeling different ideas and voices.

Am going to write my Harlequin story tonight. Inspired by this line of dialogue: "Eventually...I'm going to have you, whether you like it or not," he said. "So...you should think about liking it."

Happy Valentine's day, all! (I'm having Valentine's on Thurs when my husband is off work, lol).

Happy Valentine's Day Everyone: Open your hearts and embrace whatever (forms of) LOVE that life has to offer you!

Zodia: Me too!

EmKit: I know! Do you think they mean NO euphemisms at all? I tend to mix it up in my writing. Hmm, haven't to think about this one.

Oh Firebrain, such a tease!

Lol, I use to jump from story to story, but now I am trying to limit that. Like I am working primarily on my Dragons of Fraidel for Literotica, but I am considering working on my Zodia's Treasures that is on another site called Fictionpress. That's one of the stories I have that has no love scene. I wrote that story differently than the way I write most of my stories because the way I wrote it, it's for graphic novel format so I am not as descriptive in it, although I try to be. FYI, that title is where I got my ID here lol.

OK, so has anyone contacted Harlequin with questions yet? Just curious. I'm going to tomorrow. But figured I'd see if anyone else has gotten any answers yet. If not, I'll post back what their reply is.

Wow, I never realized how A.D.D I am with my writing lol.
Just submitted one... and not one I've been talking about. :D
I opened it, and I had hated the last 5 pages of it when I stopped working on it. So I took a deep breath, deleted them, and liked it how it was. :)
See? That wasn't so hard. I can delete. :p

Just found this thread

Hi all

An interesting thread..

Well I have been working on a story for quite while now...

No where complete and possibly too long already

It is a story of a widowed mother and her daughter becoming intimate, sexual i.e incestual...

Think Ive said to much already :)

Hey Luna, you'll be happpy to know that I am going home this weekend for a Baby Shower so I'll get that unicorn story while I am there hehe.

And gl with Harlequin.

Welcome, smallncute! :)
Keep writing!

Sorry I didn't get back here yesterday. :( Waa, boo hoo! lol.
I have time to write this morning, but I have a god awful headache and I'm not sure I can focus.
Gotta get more coffee and take a couple Tylenol. Maybe then I can get goin'. :)

smallncute: Is there such a thing as too long? :)

mynameisben: do you ever start with say chapter 2 or 3, or the ending an work your way back to the beginning?

EmKit: Hope the headache goes away soon! I still have to read Healing.

I've been working on my new Blog. I need to figure out formatting and such. It's only in the beginning stages. I'm also working on my Earth Day entry, when I can squeeze in time for it.

Hibernating: Who else finds themselves hibernating in the winter? Who suffers the winter blues of SAD (seasonal affective disorder)? I'm not sure that I suffer SAD. Unless there's a fresh layer of snow on the ground and a reason to make a snow angel and jump in a big pile: I tend to curl up and hibernate, (most often with a juicy novel). Or I drape a fleece blanket across my legs and give my fingers and imagination a good work-out...writing.

I'm running on fumes right now. I'm hoping it warms up enough today to get out and enjoy some fresh air. It's much needed. There's still quite a bit of snow in the ground, melting into mud. The animals are loving the sunshine. The horses are kicking up their hooves and having a grand old time playing tag with each other. Too bad it's too cold to shed the boots, flatten my soles on terra firma and connect with Mama Earth. Oh well, I can still hug a tree! I think that's the perfect solution.

But, let me just say that the bear in me is looking forward to those first fragile tendrils breaking the surface of earth, reaching for the sun.

Enjoy the Day everyone!

I'll post back properly later, or in the morning.. I'm running out of time, lol.
Gotta put on my face so I don't scare the masses. :p

I submitted another story this morning.. it flew out of my brain and through my fingers since Monday..
It's a non-erotic, and a true story, though it's been embellished a bit to make it into a 'story'. :)

Have a fabulous day all! Gonna be 62 degrees today in the grand state of Ohio! :D

Ack, I gotta get back to my creative pursuits. But blogging is just so damn fun and can be emotional, sheesh!

Who else BLOGS and would like to LINK up?

I'm at:

MoonKissed

Come on over and be a follower. *giggles*

Enjoy the sun Kitty, I'm doing the same. Not quite 62, but I'll take it :) How's the head?

To me, that would be like stuffing the Thanksgiving turkey on my head and eating it from the inside out.

Hmm...

I'm sorry, what were we talking about? :cathappy: :catroar:

Luna, the head is much better! Thanks. :) It's always tender the day after a migraine.. like I have a headache-over. :p But it didn't come back, thank God.
Yay for your blog! I looked at it that first day, but haven't been back to it. I'll check it out shortly.
I don't really hibernate in the winter. I don't think it depresses me. I like dreary days. :)
Spring is okay. Summer is okay. (Yay swimming and a tan.. I won't look like skim milk anymore! Woot!) Fall is my fave. :) Winter... just drags on. It is what it is.

Hehe... talk about the weather.. there's a joke that says Ohio has four seasons:
Almost winter, winter, still winter, and construction. :p

Okay, time for American Idol. I have no life. :D

Hmm...

I'm sorry, what were we talking about? :cathappy: :catroar:

Invite me over this Thanksgiving, and I would be happy to give you a demonstration. ;)

I was commenting on the fact that I cannot force my tiny little brain to write non-sequentially, or to carry a theme beyond Chapter 1. I have ADD. And mini sirloin Assburgers.

I read your Healing earlier today, BTW. Impressive. Most impressive.

EmKit: I'm watching it too. Finally seeing some of the talent. Yeah! Gad the migraine is gone. Know what you mean about the headache-over. Thanks! My latest topic is CREEPY *haha*

Me too. Funny joke! I know for myself, I could never be content living in a place that did not experience the change of seasons as I am used to. Seasonal changes inspire me; particularly Autumn: I find myself energized, reflective, and thriving. The magic of that time sings to me. As does Spring, for different reasons. Winter: pretty snow and snow angels, snuggle up, slowing down and meditating. Summer, yeah this alabaster skin isn't too big of a fan...but I love the flowers and butterflies and growth! Each season holds its own magic.

Ben: mini-sirloin assburgers...most of me wants to cringe, and a teensy part of me wants to chuckle at that phrase...but since you are making fun only of yourself...OK.

Thank you for not taking offense. It's never my intent.

Now I have to get mini sirloin burgers for dinner. I can't get it out of my head!
