Just a little proof. Food for thought pt 1

There is a lot fo talk and claims about contests being rigged as well as blatant favoritism shown to certain authors.

Anytime anyone question something about this site everyone knows there are three people who are not only the first to post, but somehow, many times, within minutes of each other.

Now most things here, there is really no proof, just conjecture and patterns and numbers and it just turns into hearsay all the way around.

Well I have been ticking off the days to make sure I gave it due time before I pointed out a little proof.

Everyone knows when people win a contest part of the "perks" is getting your name on the homepage for a little while. Well I have been here three years and the only time I never saw that happen was Last Winter, which I was one of the winners(D-lynn and I think Ben Long were the other two)

The names never made it to the front. It just kept saying winter contest for two weeks then into something else.

Then on V-day, Earth day and nude day, just like clockwork the winners are boldly proclaimed on the homepage.

But, not this one. 6 days after the announcement it still just says Summer contest. I can pretty much safely say it will continue to say that until its time to advertise Halloween. If it changed, most likely its due to this post. The winners are always posted immediately.

Is this a slight against just me? I'm not so sure, but I suppose I could take it that way. What I'm really thinking is that the group of "Bosombuddies, Ms tarot, and Lovecraft68" just isn't sexy enough.

Its far better when one of the site favs can have their name proclaimed there.

I'm not looking to debate or argue this, its a fact anyone can see.

I'm not even calling laurel out for it, because point is I don;t care. The rumor that the site does not "pay out" is not true, in both my wins I not only received my check, but within a week of winning. That is all she "owes" me at that point and she follows through.

My only reason for posting it really is just to see what lame excuses the three yahoos will come up with(maybe 2, yahoo Pilot is on vacation) and it does give one cause to think.

Oh yeah and for a guy with a check in hand I am totally seeing a guy with a Nike Swoosh tattooed or burned into his palm. It is a check in hand after all.

Also brings to mind the silly cereal commercial where a guy is drawing check marks on his clothes to match the check on a certain brand of cereal. Don't remember which but the commercial was funny.
