The "Palestinians" have also demonstrated that they can’t be trusted on Israel’s western flank, and they have used that location (Gaza) as a way to keep Israel in a perpetual crossfire (Israel actually faces threats on all its flanks, so eliminating one would be reasonable), so…

I could see creating a "Palestinian" state that includes The West Bank and some additional land swap in the west & south, with Jordan and Egypt bearing some responsibility for counterterrorism guarantees, but it appears Jordan & Egypt don’t want any part of that - and for good reason.

Ultimately: Take Gaza off the map as a threat to Israel, and Israel’s continued existence is almost guaranteed. Leave Gaza as a threat on Israel’s western flank (and then grant statehood, with all the privileges that come with it: Arms purchases; financing for military installations; a standing military, etc, etc,) and Israel is almost guaranteed to be genocided / ethnically & ideologically cleansed - slowly but surely.

That is the analogy we ought to be thinking about when considering the war between Israel and Palestine. The Palestinians have never accepted the existence of Israel. There are Israelis, and Jews outside of Israel, who are sympathetic with the situation the Palestinians are in. Have you ever heard of Palestinians who feel sympathy for Israeli victims of Palestinian terrorism and Palestinian rockets? I have not either.

As far as BrightShinyGirl is concerned, I like her quite a bit, quite a bit more than she likes me. She up votes some of my comments. Nevertheless, she is uncomfortable with the biological aspects of my esteem for the Children of Israel. The Jews are clearly the most accomplished 0.2% of the human population. Like Charles Murray, J. Philippe Rushton, and Richard Lynn, I attribute this prominence to good genes.

This is still an educational thread about Judaism. But I do post news here about racist attacks against Jews.

We’re coming up on Sukkot, which is the Jewish remembrance of our wanderings. We erect huts (“sukkot”) outside our homes and sleep or eat in them to commemorate our times as refugees. Sukkot is especially poignant this year because in 2023, we experienced our worst genocide since the Holocaust during Sukkot, and many of us are still suffering deprivation in Gaza.

Persecution of Ashkenazi Jews selected them genetically for higher intelligence. In Christian countries (I am Christian myself) they were not allowed to practice many trades. They were allowed to become money lenders. Finance requires cognitively demanding skills. Jewish men who could not learn the skills left the faith or did not have children.

Palestine was a British colony before 1948. There has never been a Palestinian state. Golda Meir’s passport says Eretz Yisrael in Hebrew (Nation of Israel) which is what the Jews who lived in the British colony called it.

Both archeological and historical evidence support the continued existence of Jews not just in Israel, but all over the Middle East. There would be large Jewish communities in Iran, Egypt, and Yemen today if the Arabs hadn’t expelled them in the 20th Century.

Jews from the diaspora did flee to British Palestine as antisemitism rose in Europe in the 1930’s just as Jews are fleeing Europe for Israel today.

The Arabs weren’t “cleared off their land” in 1948. Most of them fled to avoid the fighting when Israel’s neighbors attacked the nascent Jewish state, attempting to snuff it out. The Arabs of Gaza, Judea, and Samaria had Egyptian or Jordanian citizenship before Israel conquered those territories in the 1968.
