I suspect Mark's confession is phoney. It only takes a couple days for DNA testing, and we hear nothing. I'd guess the match isn't there, which requires a more elaborate theory. Like the professor, he's a publicity seeker, feeding on the little girl's body. (yes, he is likely quite disturbed, possibly pedophile, etc.)
Apparently the DNA was tainted by dirty tools when the Bolder Police collected it from the scene. So there will be no DNA evidence.

Also his ex-wife has produced pictures from that Christmas which family members will testify prove he was with them not in Colorado. Although the pictures do not show him they do show his children and the relatives will testify that he never missed a Christmas with his kids.

I suspect Mark knows he can't be convicted on a confession alone.

So the present path offers only plusses and publicity and has no real down side. Indeed, all around, everyone wins except the girls family.

well, actually... this takes some of the focus off them as suspects, at least for a little while... so maybe it's a win-win-win?

If Karr is not charged in the Ramsey case there is still an outstanding warrant for his arrest in Pataluma, CA for child molestation. They have said that they want him for those charges if Colorado drops theirs.
