He lived by them in Conyers GA.
Then how and why was he in Colorado?

Possibly he asked for a round sum in Thai currency, or Euros, or pounds sterling and that was converted into $118,000.

Og
Damn man, you've got it!!!! I think we may solve this on our own here!!!

Oh! That's a good point, Og. Or maybe he planned on heading down to Mexico?

Which they moved from when JonBenet was a year old, if I read the original article correctly. Kind of confusing.
Actually, they still have a house there, which they visited regularly. Which is where they went to get away from the Boulder police when they became too persistant.

I'm sorry, but the Ramsey parents still look guilty as hell. They never have answered the burning question of the last 10 years: Why did they hide behind an army of attorneys and refuse to co-operate with the police?

For the same reason you would ask why they had not used lawyers in the beginning if 10 years after the real criminal was found?

Hrmm. But, then, if they went there only on vacations and so forth, I wouldn't think that Mr. Neighbor Dude would really be that acquainted with the family. But, who knows? I'm sure all this info will come out soon enough.

He said he was in love with her.

DNA...only if the cops didn't fuck that up too!

Oooh, and how did he know about that secret room in the cellar that even some family members didn't realize was there because the house was so big?

Let's not even go there, Zeb. You don't get paid enough to confess to something that might land you on death row. Just because he "says" it's 2nd degree murder doesn't mean that's what he'll be charged with.

Now if you'd like to argue that he's a nut case confessing to a murder for his own nutty reasons, you might have a case. People do confess to all kinds of crime in misguided and insane attempts to gain attention and legendary status. Anyone labeled as the killer of JonBenet gains instant fame and in a twisted mind that might be worth dying for.

True, it's not REASONABLE to pay someone to confess to a capital crime. However, as you later point out, people do try to confess to even capital crimes for whatever reason. However, because of many, many instances of insane confessions, the scumbags will not accept a confession unless the confessor can provide details of the crime that are unknown to the public. The desire here is for the government to avoid a costly trail where it is later proved that the confessor could not have committed the crime as he/she was elsewhere.

From the look of it, he was obsessed with JonBenet and followed her around. He probably went to every one of her pagents, and likely had been stalking her since she and her parents left GA. He excused his obsession as "love" and probably thought he could make her love him back, and with they money they could run off together.

That'd be my guess.

I figured it out!!

He is really...................Patsy Ramsey!!!

Patsy didn't die but went to Thailand for an inexpensive sex change operation, thus the need for foriegn currency, throwing the feds off track...but...John Ramsey was now upset because his beloved Patsy was now a man and that would make him gay...so....he spilled the beans.

damn I'm good.

LMAO :D

I don't believe the death penalty is appropriate here. What is needed is torture! Comment?

Man says he drugged, had sex with Ramsey

BANGKOK, Thailand - The American suspect in the killing of JonBenet Ramsey told investigators that he drugged and had sex with the 6-year-old beauty queen before accidentally killing her, a senior Thai police officer said Thursday.

An autopsy on Ramsey said a blood screening showed no drugs or alcohol in her body but said she had vaginal abrasions.

Lt. Gen. Suwat Tumrongsiskul, head of Thailand's immigration police, said by telephone that he was not present for the questioning, which was conducted by U.S. law enforcement officials.

But, according to what the general said he was told of the questioning, the suspect, John Mark Karr, "said he drugged the child." Suwat did not say who briefed him on the questioning.

Karr claimed he had sex with Ramsey, who was still alive, Suwat said. Karr said he then realized he had "accidentally" killed her, according to the general.

A spokesman for the U.S. Embassy said it had no information about Karr's alleged actions or what he said to questioners. U.S. and Colorado law enforcement officials were unavailable for comment.

There are loonies who confess to high profile cases like this one, and Karr might be one of those. He also knows many details about the case but, I heard he is writing a book about it so that might explain his knowledge. DNA tests, or fingerprits in the house should determine that. I don't know about CO but in most places, if you are kidnapping and raping a child, and she dies as a result of it, that is first degree murder. Period.

The $118,000, I believe, was the amount of a bonus or special commission, or something of that sort, that John Ramsey had just received. That and the fact that the ransom note was written on Patsy's stationery, were more grounds for suspicion against the family. If Carr had been obsessed with the girl and stalked the family, he might have known about that. He might have learned of a broken basement window and occasionally prowled the house, which would have allowed him to steal the stationery. He may have even stolen a spare key.

I have said that I believe the Ramseys to be guilty. I hope I was wrong and that this guy was the killer. If he is, I hope he hangs for the crime. I will gladly volunteer to tie the rope, hopefully an old one, around his neck.

Okay, now I'm wondering why anyone would ask for $118,000. Why not a round $150,000 or $200,000? Why that particular amount?
“The text of the note had many odd features, including the fact that $118,000 was demanded. Perhaps coincidentally, John Ramsey earned a bonus that year of $118,117.50.” Link

Ah. Okay. Now that makes sense.

His ex-wife, who you'd suppose has no love lost for him, says he was with her in Alabama when JonBenet was murdered.

If there is any documentation of that, it supports the wacko-obsessed-wanting-fame theory.

Unless she's a wacko nut that still love his dumb ass!

<sigh>Yeah, it could be that. There is all kinds in the world.

By the way, let's not forget the once little girl. She'd be like 16 now, starting 10th grade maybe.

I wish her Dad could be mocking her lovingly for having a crush on Orlando Bloom instead of having to wonder if they really have caught her killer.

Another possibility is that Karr and Patsy Ramsey were in on this together. One thing that has always bothered me about Patsy is the fact that she was dressed in the same clothes that morning when the police arrived that she wore to the Christmas party the night before. Now for a wopman who was supposed to be sleeping because she had an early trip the next day I find that strange.

Before I finally believe that this man killed JonBenet I want some solid DNA evidence.

Yeahhhhh actually finally growing into all the make-up and crap her parents put her in....

(sorry, I hate baby beauty pageants, pet peeve)

Perhaps she'd have rebelled, and gone all Goth.

It was so easy to believe Patsy Ramsey killed the child in a fit of Beauty Pageant Envy. Who else but a crazy woman would bleach her 5-year-old's hair and tart her up like a road-weary Vegas showgirl?

If this guy also killed Ron Goldman and Nicole Brown Simpson, I'll turn in my Dick Tracy decoder ring.

Edited to add: I've always thought "A Small Foreign Faction" would be a good name for a band.

Dressing a child in a hat like this is criminal. She looks ready for a cat-fight with Joan Collins on 'Dynasty;:
