John's Rustic Romper Room

Hi John, hi Sunbunny

Except watching my eldest +girlfriend walking through the check-in to Air America this morning at 7.00 (!), packing my backpack to cook at the girl scouts' summer camp from tomorrow on, attending a meeting about homosexuality among migrants this evening, I've done nothing special ...

Hope you are having a great time and enjoy the fireworks!

Thank you Sunbunny! I hope yours is relaxing and fun as well.

Anyone doing anything fun? I'm going to a friends house for a few hours then heading to our special locale to watch the fireworks in the evening?

I worked an early 8 hour shift on four hours of sleep so I just woke from a two hour nap ;) I am going off to explore a bbq joint for some dinner and chilling out until bedtime. Tomorrow will also find me at work before 5 am.

*huggs Rhapsody*

Good to hear about the good, happy life! Wish you many, many, many years of the same.

As long as you peek in once in while and report, we are happy too.

Hi Rhapsody~! So good to hear things are going well for you. I've opened a small studio and am working my way through the marketing stage right now. Still lots to learn, but am totally enjoying what I'm doing.

Sunbunny, working all weekend, but I know you'll get some time off soon and hope you get plenty of rest and relaxation. Between you & the Dutchess, I'm thinking I'm not really all that busy :D

The start of another week here. I have a class this week where I'll be helping new photographers in the darkroom. It's interesting seeing them learn the process of making photos. I hope you all have a great week and as always, will check in when I have time.

Good morning John! Today is my only day off for a bit more, but off sat and sun so I'm making the drive down to San Antonio, my sister is flying in for her daughter in laws baby shower.. I am going to be a surprise. She thinks I work all weekend.

I hope it all works out and everyone has a great time sunbunny :D

I had a big fight, nothing physical with a professor today. Not even from one of my classes. He was just being a jerk, disrespectful and men and I decided to tell him he was a disrespectful ass!! He wasn't very pleased. I wonder how he feels when his Dean calls him in to ask what transpired? It should be interesting.

Thank you John, it will be a wonderful time! I haven't seen any of them since I flew home in November.

Good job with the professor!

As Sunbunny said, John, good job with the professor!

And a good job with opening your own studio too! *hugs & kisses*

As you see, I am back, survived the camp and the girls survived on my cooking very well too!

Is it really you??? Do my eyes deceive me?

Yes, my dear, it's really me, the fat old guy who loves chatting with the ladies, especially while watching them on the trampoline or in the pool! :D How and where have you been? Please tell me things are going well with you, I've missed you :(

So they wore you out, good for them! ::D

I also made some eat things they had never before eaten or even thought about eating! Like a variation on "Rendang" originally a spicy Indonesian dish which consists of tougher meat cooked for a long time in some coconut milk and lots of spices until it is a tender ragout. A bit of quark or creme fresh, onions and just salt and pepper do the trick as well and tough cow meat (the kind you use for a broth) ends up a wonderful stew which is a lot cheaper than schnitzels, chicken nuggets or fish fingers (which is all they eat at home if you believe some girls).

The leaders are very strict on the "salad at the start of every meal-rule". Which is an ordeal for some of the girls. They simply think salad isn't fit for human consumption. It is my pride to never serve a simple lettuce salad with a store-bought (basic, because of the budget) dressing. They do get lettuce, it is the cheapest salad one can buy and I am on a tight budget. But is doesn't cost the world to add some tomatoes once or cucumber or carrots or left over parmesan and a chopped up hard boiled egg, or some chopped up baked bacon and to add fresh and/or dried herbs to the store-bought dressing one day, and/or ketchup, mustard, some cream, chopped pickled onions, gherkins or, well, you get the gist, the combinations and possibilities are endless.

And now I need to spread-eagle myself in the pool. The weather is just right!

Good morning! Spent the weekend driving the 500 mile trip down to San Antonio to my niece's babyshower! Surprised my sister, she didn't know I was coming down. :D A wonderful weekend in the arms and hearts of family, both by birth and marriage!

Wonderful! I am very glad you had such a great time and safe traveling! :rose::kiss:

Hi everyone. I've been sick all weekend and am completely miserable now. Just wanted to stop by and see if anything interesting was happening.:heart:

I am so sorry, John! Hope you'll feel better soon :rose::kiss:

Would cool drink and bouncing boobies help?

I would help you with the cool drink, but I am coughing too hard to do the bouncing boobies. I wouldn't even be able to keep my equilibrium if I were laying spreadeagled in the pool.
