john lewis bill house-approved

As somebody who spent almost two decades in John Lewis’ district trying to fix the problems of crime, poverty, and family disintegration created entirely by Lewis’ politics and his political party,

Nope. It wasn't the Democrats - and certainly not Lewis - who have spent the past 40 years cutting social services to the bone, implementing colorblind aid policies, passing draconian drug laws without any meaningful effort at beefing up rehab programs, cutting taxes for the very rich at everyone else's expense, and giving cities as little help as is politically feasible. Nice try though.

Incoherent emoji posting....that's what I've reduced you to, sit Ubu sit. :D

It was not a question of totalitarianism vs. liberty,

it was a question of national liberation vs. imperialism.

You say one thing and then immediately contradict yourself.

Was it about liberty or not.

And the government the U.S. supported was so corrupt and unpopular that no matter how many guerillas the Americans killed, the Viet Cong could always recruit more.

Popularity has fuck all to do with it.

Look how many people in the USA hate liberty and freedom of any sort with a white hot searing passion. They won by 7 million votes.

Was it about liberty or not.

It was like the American Civil War, both sides fighting for freedom as they understood the concept -- only not quite like that, because the SV government was not that idealistic, it was a simple kleptocracy.

In the Cold War, the U.S. was always willing to back any regime that was anticommunist, regardless of anything else about it. In hindsight, that was not wise.

Popularity has fuck all to do with it.

It usually has a lot to do with any good judgment as to whether a government is worth keeping.

Nobody voted for Biden because they hate freedom.

I agree, but surely you know by now there is no point in trying to reason with BoBo on that one. (Or on anything for that matter, but especially that particular point.)
