Jewelry Cleaner?

Mild soap and water is the only thing I can think of that is not going to react with all types of jewelry.

If there is something, like tarnish, that soap and water won't take care of, then you need a cleaner specific to the type of metal the jewelry is made of -- ie silver polish for silver, etc.

Well, seeing as how my RastaCum can clean even the dirtiest of souls, it should be able to tackle the ground in dirt on your jewelry, mon.

Actually...there really isn't one that is fail-safe for all types of gems.

Now...as Morg mentioned....toothpaste works wonders on Diamonds. But...if you're talking just common gold, or other solid stones, and you don't have access to regular jewelry cleaner, a great way to clean them is just to soak them in some Vodka for awhile and then attack them with a toothbrush. It'll clean them up very nicely, and you won't have to worry about harming conventional stones (diamonds, emeralds, rubies, amethyst, sapphires..etc)

Now....if you're talking pearls.....be careful. Even regular dish detergent will harm them. I've found that it's best to have anything to do with pearls done at a jewelry store.

Hope this helps.....

Most jewelers clean them for free while you wait. Atleast they do here in Washington.

Next time you are at the mall.. pop in and ask.. I find they do a better job.. and if they mess anything up they have to pay to repair it..

I have mine done everytime I'm at the mall.. (about once a month or so).

You can buy machines similar to the ones the jewelry store uses. They are ultrasonic cleaners. I bought mine on eBay for about $75. Don't get the cheap ones, they don't work well and break easily.

I clean my jewelry every morning before I wear it so it always sparkles.

p.s. It is NOT for pearls though. I think not opals and other soft stones, either. Where is our resident jeweler- CH?

If you can wait a week or two...I will send you some proffesional grade cleaner...it works well on everything except pearls.

Will that work Myst?

Sorry about the pearl necklace I just gave you. A little soap and water will take care of that.

Gel toothpaste and a soft brush will clean about anything. Make sure it is GEL.......standard will scratch it.

Will it? Sheesh! Of course it will, dear. ;)

Thank you for your wisdom and time all.
