Jeb Bush, will he run?

Jeb is the best hope for the Republican party. If the RINO's in the GOP refuse to see that 2016 will be a repeat of 2012.

i think hillary will, or already has, health issues. she may be the preferred dem, but i don't think she'll be physically viable in 2016... that leaves... hmmmmm? biden?

christie may be the best positioned of the obvious (i.e. centrist), but...
jeb is still the least bush-like, most well rounded (i.e. centrist) of his bush generation... he will be a surprise to those inclined to hate "bush" by name. he is smart and pragmatic and not only preaches social issues, but has married and procreated them... remember dad's 'little brown babies' comment?

he will have been out of the 'office' grinder for 4+ years. this book tour gives him release to go out to the hustings without appearing entirely on the make. perfect opportunity to gauge the pulse of the peeps...?

christie will be out and un-officed by next year... time to ruff the grouse unhindered for himself as well... i like christie, but america may not be ready for wh taft redux... fat may be a far bigger hindrance today than color was to obama... (there is no delicate way to dance in that minefield... and yet...)

the question was jeb.
if he doesn't run, he's doing all the right things to decide this earnestly...

if not jeb, then who? christie? hmmmm?

more importantly, if not hillary then who? biden? ... long hmmmmmm?

What extreme left? Obama is further right than your last presidential candidate.

LOL until the GOP re-thinks practically every social position they have they are fucked. In fact the only thing they have that even sounds good is curtailing some of our bullshit spending on shit we can't afford and 110% do not need. But that is just lip service, they have shown time and again they have no real interest in spending cuts to anything but the other team's welfare projects and none of their own.

So really they got nothing.......... a bunch of dumb shit "Christian nation Christian ways!!" nutters up there waving flags and pounding freedom fries by the bucket load while voting in favor of a prohibitive police state......it's fucking laughable.

Actually, if not Hillary is a far more interesting question. I think, if she runs, she's a walk over. If she doesn't, who is the Dem front runner?

The right-wing noise machine has been tirelessly pushing the "health issues" meme since the day after the last election....a pre-emptive strike to try and get that into the national conscious.

Practically speaking, the Republicans need a non-white to promote their non-white hatin' agenda.

This will cause a fracking amongst social conservatives. The Amicus wing (No Niggars Never) will never accept a candidate with a touch of the tar brush, which puts them directly in conflict with the "say anything, do anything, to win" Vettefaction.

This means they'll have to compromise and find a Latino or Hispanic snake oil peddler. That means Rubio.

The neo-conservative wing, meanwhile, wants another amiable dunce. That means Jebbie.

The fireworks should be interesting.

True it will be but the results will be the same. As you said the right wing is too broken up and backwards to accomplish shit...unless the DNC totally falls apart/majorly fucks the pooch and the GOP pulls a fast one while the dems have their pants down they aren't getting the WH in 2016.

If they really re-thought their platform and focused on keeping the senate and owning the house they might have a chance to salvage their party anything short of that and they are just polishing the brass while the ship sinks. But let's be real....that shit ain't happening.

OMG!

BB has ran you bat shit crazy!

or his personality has split.

Either way...GET HELP! it's not to late!

If the GOP can ever figure out how to live without the one note bugles such as homophobic Michelle Bachmann or Anti-abortion Rick Santorum, they might be able to find a slightly less than white successful minority candidate who doesn't have sex slave tied up in the attic, or a sweat shop filled with 9 year olds in Shanghai.

Jeb Bush might have a chance, but Republicans always let the bugles lead the charge. When they get to the top of the hill, no one is left alive.

exactly...
2016 is a long time off...
in politics, it's eons...

there are plenty of geo politics that will fall out to pepper this next us election...
the euro-zone issues are probably foremost
the various "springs"
and in russia, "un-springing"
will also play...

that's not even taking into consideration
the iraq-anistan pull-out fall-out
or...

hillary did not look good after the "fall".
she is still wearing a fresnel lensed left eyepiece...
she was incommunicado for almost 3 weeks right after the election...

i don't know?
i just feel she may have missed her window...
she's also what? 66? 69 in 2016?

strangely (for my politics) i do really like her...
actually have come to a grudging but firm respect.

obama was quite prescient to bring her on board...
she entirely complemented his lack of international wherewithal...

and,
she was both tough
and... a team player...
(where she could have been... aloof/superior(?))

i'd bet she's out though.
i'd bet she's out sooner than later.

who then?
joe wants it but... he's joe and a fossil and he's old and... he's joe

cuomo? no. too much baggage and he looks and sounds like a goombah!
an interesting cat would be bill richardson... again too old.
wasserman schultz? yeah right!

perhaps corey booker...? He'll be senator by then (lautenberg's seat) and an up and comer! interesting guy.

i just don't know...

They really are unelectable. If we take the 40/40 split as read, both parties are fighting for that 20% in the middle. And to that 20%, the GOP look like insane people.

The right wing needs help not me....I'm not alleviating the left of their bullshit/dumb assery but I'll be damned if I don't digg into the RW for theirs too.

Support gay marriage, end the war on drugs, Roe v wade was 40 fuckin' years ago let it go, lead by example and cut your own party's welfare pet projects and then MAYBE....the GOP will be cooking with crisco.

Hardcore conservatives ran in 2012.

Why did they not win?

i just don't know...
The VP is normally considered the heir apparent, but I don't see anyone touting Joe as prez. I honestly don't know, I think Hillary will run and get elected.

Alright, so double down on the derp for the win.

Good plan.

I dunno, as it is, the money goes to the electable. Not the nickel and dimes from the rank and file, but the real money. And they aren't going to back a looney tune, no matter how much the religious extremists want them to.

I don't know how much he wants the job. I assumed if Jeb had wanted to be President, he would have taken a shot against the Ant Hill Mob (aka the 2012 Republican field). Sure, there would have been practical questions about whether the GOP electorate, let alone the country as a whole, would have accepted a third Bush after the first two Bush presidencies ended, um, less than successfully, but those questions won't be going away by 2016 either.

I think if Jeb signaled he was in, he wouldn't have too much trouble lining up the sort of financing his brother had, but Republican voters might be in the mood for someone who is more of an insurgent, even though GOP insurgents basically never win. In particular, there seems to be this nutty idea that a nominee with a Spanish surname will solve all their problems, which is far from the truth.

Of course, if Bush got the nomination, those saying they're against him now would put that all behind them and treat him as a conquering conservative hero (see: 2008, 2012)... until he lost and those same folks turned on him as a RINO who lost because he wasn't insane enough (see: 2008, 2012).

In conclusion, I don't know the answer.

Biden's too old and he isn't discrete enough to be president. Hillary is a very viable candidate.

Because they were batshit crazy and the sane people that actually run the GOP knew it.

Ditto.

Christie has little support with conservatives and his kissing up to Obama has hurt him in the Party. I wouldn't be surprised if he switched parties. The only hope Clinton has is the Obama like worship from the MSM that Obama has enjoyed.

And this is why your party is a mess. Christie's beliefs are mainstream conservative and his actions as gov are conservative. He cooperated with Obama on something because he's a pragmatist and because it was the right thing to do. But doing the right thing and anything resembling pragmatism take distant back seats to party ideology in modern Republicanism. On top of that I think conservatives distrust
Christie simply because he appeals to moderates and some Democrats.

Vette, I do not know and I do not care.

All I know is that the Republicans must be destroyed for the Press and the intellectuals to enjoy one party rule, so he will be destroyed by any manner possible as will all the others.

"Shotgun" Joe Biden could win the next election.
