Hey, all! Anybody talk with FantasySlut? How's she doing?

I haven't been on for long periods. Bumped into her a few times, but she's wasn't giving her wet hugs and kisses.

Je sais. (Is that right?) Something's wrong, but I don't know what it is...

Yes. I miss her old self. She knows she has all our best wishes.

Not on long periods right now, either - kids are all visiting...

I believe that with the holiday weekend, FS probably can't be on due to "family" presence...

I hope so. She just seemed subdued the last few times. Maybe tired from having to care for all her visitors.

How you doing, BWolf. I'm in SC right now.

Good morning all, this 29th of May.
Memorial Day in the US
Spring Bank Holiday in the UK (so called because the banks are closed, figures huh.).
It was also known here for a long time as Oak Apple Day, or Royal Oak Day.
This dates from the restoration of the Monarchy, on May 29 1660, the birthday, and coronation day of King Charles II.
After the death of Oliver Cromwell, the Crown was restored.

One or two you of you, especially cc, know I am a bit of a history buff LOL
My theory being that History is the backbone of our future.

Here is a link that tells you more on it, plus the entry in Samuel Pepys Diary for June 1st 1660.

Good morning, BD. Yes, I do remember you are a history buff.

Thanks for the historical tidbits. I'm glad I didn't live in the late 1600's.

It's interesting you found a copy on E bay. It is funny how that magazine can't be named that today.

Memorial Day is a day of "National Mourning." All U.S. Flags should be displayed at half-staff during the morning hours. At noon, they should be raised back to full-staff. It's a sacred day to all war veterans - none needs to be reminded of the reason why Memorial Day must be commemorated.

Celebrated in most states on the last Monday in May, Memorial Day is a time to remember the U.S. men and woman who lost their lives serving their country. Originally known as: "Decoration Day", it was established in 1868 to commemorate the dead from the Civil War. Over the years, it came to serve as a day to remember all U.S. men and women killed or missing in action in all wars.

The first official recognition of a Memorial Day was made by General John A. Logan, first commander of the Grand Army of the Republic. On May 5, 1868, he issued General Order No. 11 establishing May 30th as a day of honoring the dead. The order required all men throughout his command to spend some portion of the day policing the gravesites and decorating them, and observing such ceremonies as their duties allowed. It was hoped that it would spark a similar interest in the general population of this country.
