I am sorry that he won't get to shine the way that you would like him to. I understand how hard they worked for all of this. Hopefully the parents will be able to be there to support their efforts. That is what is most important. I know your sleep will be interrupted for one night, but I would say this is worth it .

Very well he did his speech well. He got 10 gold medals, 3 silver medals, and bronze for individual bible bowl. He is happy! And now we get to get ready for next year soon! But he needs to concentrate on making it through the TAKS test and getting out of 6 grade now!

There is a 50/50 chance I may go to my properties after work today for the weekend. My property manager told me that they posted a 24 hour notice of abandonment on the apartment. If they haven't disturbed the notice by this morning, they will let me know and I will be on my way. I am all packed. If I am not online this weekend, you will know why.

There is a 50/50 chance I may go to my properties after work today for the weekend. My property manager told me that they posted a 24 hour notice of abandonment on the apartment. If they haven't disturbed the notice by this morning, they will let me know and I will be on my way. I am all packed. If I am not online this weekend, you will know why.

Thanks Jacqline I will. He came home yesterday with his report card! It was not good. I knew that it was going to be bad, but it was awful so now he is grounded for the rest of the school year. (6 weeks) I asked him if he brought home a report card and he kind of mumble yeah, I'll get it in a minute. I asked if it was THAT bad! He put a positive twist to it, he said well I have some good news I had perfect attendance! So I let him know that I was proud of him for that, which actually is because we forced him to go on days that he was feeling tired, etc.. but that I was not proud of the rest and that he needed to do extremely well this last six weeks if he wanted to pass to the 7th grade. Actually I don't think that there is any way he WON'T pass unless it is really bad and even then maybe not. But what he doesn't know can help him! But this report card there is no sense in it being that bad, he had a stack of math papers that he had not turned in and the teacher gave him a chance to do and get lower points but would bring his average up and I asked him about it and he told he was doing them the next day. I discovered them after he supposed had finished his homework and I think I was on my way to work or something, and then the next week, after the 6 weeks was really over, I saw them in his backpack, undone! I was furious and I said so you got a zero for all of these, yeah! They send home a grade progress report every 2-3 weeks and I counted about 10-15 zeroes where he didn't turn things in! And he had a D in conduct. That one really got me. They take off 10 points each time they get in trouble so that tells you how many times he got in trouble! He has been really bad about talking. But I still love him, but he sure is turning my dark brown hair awful blonde here lately!!!! As it turned out, my property manager called just before my Dr. appointment and told me they weren't all the way out so I stayed home this weekend.

On the positive side, I pulled myself out of the dolldrums and worked all day Sunday and went through mounds of paperwork and set up my new file cabinet. I still have another days worth to do but I am happy to get that far. I have really needed one for a very long time.

I am doing my best to go with the flow. I can't do anything else.

thanks, i did have a good weekend, we had a little bbq out at the house saturday, some friends of ours that are moving and the other couple we run around with all the time were out, they had moved all day so we fixed supper for all them, and my daughter was home, and of course her bf was there!! which is fine he is a good guy!! but the weather was nice we was out on the patio all night!!! i am so glad its summer again, then yesterday i helped them get finished moving!! hopefully we can get started on their new house soon!! have a great day!!! hugs

When both of you are having a good day, I would ask him about things in a non threatening way about school, etc. I know that my son was scared to death to go on to Jr. high because it took him 3 months to get used to ONE new teacher every year and the thought of 6 or 7 (I forget now how many classes he had) seriously frightened him. Thanks you might be right. He is sooooo excited about it, but probably scared too, because he knows that there is going to be alot more responsiblity, etc...I guess it is kind of the double edge sword thing. I was a little nervous going to jr. high and then the first day I was just overwhelmed with all the kids that were there. I think we had 4 elementary schools feed into it. And on top of that the spring before we had moved to the house my dad is in now. So I was catching the bus and having all my "old friends" to go with me. I had to walk to school because the jr. high was just down the street from us! But I was very shy but within about a week, I think, I had the routine down and could find my classes, etc.. and it seemed that none of my friends were in any of my classes! But I survived it. I think I am going to either talk to or email his mentor and get his opinion and get him to take him out one day for dinner/lunch and talk with him and see if he can find out how he feels and if there are any fears that he is not letting me know and have him explain to him that it can be scary but he HAS to be organized and that will make things alot easier on him. That's what friends are for, sweetie. I am so glad that he has a male mentor to talk to about things because guys have a thing sometimes where they don't think they can admit their vulnerabilities to their Moms. Their growing up experience is quite different from girls. They have many added pressures from other guys. This is a time to get to the bottom of things. He needs a lot of understanding. He isn't doing it to be a bad kid. I am sensing a real fear there.

It is going just fine too. I did find out, however, that I am definitely going to be going down to my property this weekend. The squatters finally got out. I have a lot of cleaning and painting and rug cleaning ahead of me. Hopefully there won't be too many things that need to be repaired I will be leaving Friday after work to go down there.
