Good days off

Jacqline - I hope that you are having a good week. I have just had a good couple of days off. I went in yesterday and got my permanent crown put on. I am glad to have that part done. I have some more work to be done, but my insurance company won't pay for any more until next year. Today I saw my podiatrist and got another cortisone injection in my heel and so far my foot feels better. I am keeping my fingers crossed. After I left that office, I took my wife with me for a massage. I think that she is as hooked on them as I am. Then I spent the rest of the day doing a few household chores and relaxing. The day was good for both of us.

ljmo - How are you and your wife doing? I am continuing to pray for both of you.

I am glad that you now have a crown protecting your root canal. I just don't understand why companies don't have higher insurance maximums for their employees for dental. Something that isn't taken care of now could get worse by next year. I hope that the cortisone shots will help you like they helped me so many years ago. I haven't had to go back since.

I truly miss going for my massages. My massage therapist moved away and so I just sent away for a massage mat that will massage your whole body. It isn't the same, but maybe it will help. We all need that kind of spoiling.

It has been another one of those tough weeks so far but I am just doing the best I can do. We had to go after work last night for a three hour CPR class so I had an even later evening. I am focussed on the fourth of July weekend when I will have four days off.

good to hear from yu, its been another tough week here as well, got a carpet date for the house of July 11 so i am going to have to work lots of hours to make that happen!! but will be nice to get it done, might actually take a couple weeks off before i start the next project!! Karen is having surgery on her stomach again tomorrow, dont know if this will be the last time or not, guess we will have to see after tomorrow!! take care!!! HUGS!!

I am so sorry that Karen has to go through so much with these surgeries! Please give her a hug from me. I am glad that you are on target for your deadline on the house. I don't know how you handle heat like that!!!! I can only remember it hitting 106 degrees one time in my hometown and that is when I was six years old. We all lived in the water that day. I have a hard time when it hits 80 degrees (of course our homes do not have air conditioning as a rule either.) Have a great week and a super weekend.

Doing better

Jacquline - Things have been a little better. My wife has not been having as much pain and most of the time I can almost walk normally. By the end of the work day it does hurt a bit. Fortunately, we needed to cut back on our payroll and the most effective way is for me to take a day of vacation. I am not taking it all at one time, but two to three hours on each of three days. Plus my other pharmacist owes me five hours that I worked for her on Saturday so most of the week I only have to work three to five hours.

ljmo - I am glad that your wife's surgery was successful. I am just sorry that she has to go through more of them. I am praying for both of you.

Vacation

My vacation has finally gotten here. It officially started last night, but I worked today for another pharmacist so that she could extend her vacation three extra days. Another pharmacist is going to do that for me also. That store only has one pharmacist on Fridays so it is a 12 hour day without a break. My wife picked up a couple of dinners and we had dinner together in the pharmacy while I continued to work. I have two weeks, but we are not going to go any where until next week. We are going to go over by Santa Cruz, Ca. First we will stay in a motel for two days and then get up early in the morning to claim a choice campsite. We will then stay in our tent for six nights. We will be staying in a coastal forest where it is absolutely beautiful. We stayed there about 13 years ago with our two daughters and my mother and sister. This time it is going to be just the two of us. we are really looking forward to it. We have three different families who are friends of ours in the area so we will get a chance to visit with them also.

How are you doing, Jacqline? Has work gatten any better? How are you feeling? I hope that you have a good week-end and then a good week.

ljmo - how are you and your wife doing? Has your wife had her second surgery? I pray that she is feeling better. Have you adjusted to having your son gone?

Yesterday I finally found out that my boss is going to let me go out marketing our dental practice to different places as well as back her up in things that she needs done. I feel much better now. This not knowing has been driving me crazy. I wasn't sure if I was being replaced or what.

Sorry I haven't responded sooner. Life has been very hard for me lately. There has been someone doing a working interview for my position a few days each week the past few weeks and I didn't know what that meant for me. Yesterday I finally found out that my boss is going to let me go out marketing our dental practice to different places as well as back her up in things that she needs done. I feel much better now. This not knowing has been driving me crazy. I wasn't sure if I was being replaced or what.

we got back from our vacation today and had a great time. We spent six nights among the coastal redwoods near Santa Cruz, Ca. The weather was perfect, 80's during the days and 50's during the nights. After leaving 105+ temperatures it was refreshing. Even staying in our tent, we were comfortable. It was more like a retreat than a vacation. All we did was relax. We slept until we were ready to get up. Then we fixed and ate breakfast followed by time just sitting and watching the birds, squirrels, chipmonks and trees. We also would read or just talk to each other. Around noon we would eat lunch and go for a short walk before laying down for a nap. After getting up, we would sit and read or my wife did some stitching and more talking. We spent the rest of the day and evening eating dinner, playing RummyKub and enjoying our campfire before going to bed about 10PM. That was pretty much our whole day for six days. It was so relaxing. We really hated to come home.

Jacqline and ljmo I hope that both of you are able to get the relaxation that you need like we did.

I did get out with a friend on Saturday to "The Bite of Seattle". They had some great bands playing at Seattle Center and I got some yummy salmon caesar salad. It was hot that day but there was lots of water provided by Crysal Springs (one of the sponsors).

I did get some rest yesterday (my apartment was too hot to do much since there is no air conditioning).

Sorry I missed your post. This sounds like a wonderful vacation and just what you needed. I am not going to get a vacation this summer. I am hoping to be able to go to Denver in October for a week to visit my daughter and family.

Camping is a wonderful way to be in nature and we have so many wonderful camping areas up here. I am so happy for both of you having that precious time together.
