I've been buried in union member surveys all week for an Out of Class study -- for those who don't know (which would've been me 3 weeks ago) "Out of Class" means doing work that is outside the parameters of your job classification. For instance if you're an office clerk you aren't required to take on the duties of office manager etc.
So this survey has been for librarian's assistants particularly those who work in state-run correctional facilities (have an idea where this is going?) It seems that most of these librarians are left for hours at a time as the sole custodians of prison inmates --- no guard on duty. These are unarmed civilians - many of them female - who are responsible for the behavior of up to 50 inmates at a time.
Now, granted the most risque thing I read all week is that one of the female librarians has to round up all the inmates and lock them out of the library in the hallway whenever she needs to use the restroom, but you can imagine what I've been perving on.
I jayed to just such thoughts as soon as I got home today.
