I"m hoping to understand why this is being censored.

I understand why certain domains are censored in posts and PM's.

However I've been helping a few members who's web browsers have loaded malicious J a v a s c r i p t, causing pop-up windows.

Why, when it's posted or sent in a PM, is it being censored and replaced with "**********"?.
It's a a programming language not a dangerous web site.

Allowing the word makes it easier for people to insert malicious code via forms, which is basically everything in a forum.

Censoring the word makes them work for it, so it at least blocks most of the AOL script kiddies. It's one less thing you have to deal with as far as the serious security measures go.
