As can be seen from the fact that I'm here whining about it, instead of actually doing it. And that I've created three vampire pictures of AHers in that time.

"Throughout time, X has been an important issue present in society."

It's most informative, not to mention rivetting.

Also, why say "X causes Y" when you could say "In my opinion, it mostly appears that X could basically be said to be the cause of Y"? After all, those professors just specified a number of words, not - heaven forfend - ideas.

This was the proper format, apparently, but you're 10 pages into the paper and nothing at all has been shown, proven, posed, hypethesized, dreary, drudge, blah. The ideas get crushed by the format.
