Actually, that is not the first thing rumored to have happened that way.

Everything from certain types of aircraft rarely seen to super metals with properties unknown here on earth.

(Cue the X-files music and pass out the tin foil hats!)

Any technology aliens would be kind enough to share with us would pale in comparison to the technology of how they got here in the first place and apparently overcame the limitation of the speed of light which would otherwise have made their journey one of at least hundreds if not thousands of years.

Since I don't know of any Earth-type planets existing in our immediate galactic neighborhood of 10 to 20 light years or so, it is reasonable that aliens came an awfully long way. How did they do it, is the first obvious question to ask.
