iTunes Q

I have few albums on my iTunes Library which have artwork (album covers) missing. It's not available to download from apple...

And it's driving me nuts.

Is there other way of getting artwork than from iTunes?
TIA :rose:

Album Cover Art for iTunes

Find a picture of the album cover online (I have very good luck with enlarged pictures on Amazon.com).

Save the picture to your machine.

Open the picture, select the entire image, and copy to clipboard.

In iTunes, select all of the songs on the album. Then select "Get Info" from one of the menus.

Find the box for the artwork, and paste the picture in it.

BTW, iTunes REALLY likes it when your pictures are square (same number of pixels vertical as horizontal - don't ask me why, but it likes it better).

Yeah, its convoluted and a pain in the butt, but you'll be able to stop driving your nuts. ;^)

Check this site. Or try this site.

Another thing you can try is to find the album cover either on Wikipedia or Amazon or a similar site and drag the artwork to the appropriate box in iTunes. You may not get a very high quality cover, but it does fill it up.

I hope I explained it clear enough - my brain is on the fritz.

Thanks SO much, both of you :rose:

I'm PC, Vista Premium. It hates iTunes  :rose:

OK, that explains a LOT... You could always put your spiffy iPod on e-bay and get a Zune; then, things would work swimmingly, right?

If you were using a Mac, I would have another suggestion for you... Since you're not, the advice given in other replies are right on!

Good luck!

*faints in shock*
SELL MY shiney sparkley iPOD?! What will I Touch now?! LOL :p

Hello again,

I thought the idea of releasing your beloved iPod would be too much to take... What else would you touch? You could always 'feel your boobies' (or get a willing accomplice)... If there isn't already, there should be an App for that!

You may want to check out this: Tune Up

I believe there is a Windows version available... I don't have any direct experience using the program, so I can't speak to how well it works.

I used Fire Breeze's advice. Just googled album, copy whatever image I need, right click on required album, go to get info and paste image in Artwork. :D
It's quite fun, just the thing I like to do, methodical and satisfactory. ;)

And yes, I love my iPod

Thanks for help, again, you're a star

I've used the hell out of TuneUp, it rocks on both the PC and the Mac. I'd reccomend that route if you're not concerned with spending $. It's like $29 or so.

wow, hey you... ;) I feel honoured, first post and in my Q thread? ;) Thanks

I quite like looking up images and copy and paste method, it's very me :p

Hey, a bit late to the thread, but if you really want to roll up your sleeves there's an excellent utility called "Media Monkey" (PC only) It's a bit of a learning curve, but it definitely streamlines the album art acquisition process, and allows my OCD tendencies freedom to go wild.

Talk nerdy to me,

I was going to suggest this also. It is what I did.

Windows Media Player works well for finding cover art. There's a nifty little thing that goes with the player, that lets you look up album information.
