Last night, the West Indies opened there account with a thrilling 3 run victory over the host nation South Africa.

Tonight is New Zealand Vs Sri Lanka, and Zimbabwe Vs Namibia.

Well the NZ game should be a good one.

You think they'll actualy put on the TV?

Not a chance..

unless you have the specialty channel..there isn't a chance in hell.

But then again, i don't no much about cricket, but i'd watch it out of protest to crappy canadian sports:p

I have 16 different sports channels, and none of them have ever heard of cricket. All though come to think of it SkySports might show it...

Actually, I am wondering if I will be able to see any of it while i am in the US next month.

*shudder* i need my fix :)

Muppet: I think that could be a safe bet :)

When I was out I missed the footy, rugby, netball, and something else of the finals.

Duck, you are getting out cheap.

Personally I'm hoping that England and OZ forfeit, and Zimbabwe get into the Super Sixes... fuck the politics, those guys deserve it.

Also, WI beating SA is a great start for us

Actually, when I take over as ruler of Canada - probably next year - you and everyone else will HAVE to like hockey or face a possible relocation to Nanuvit.

Just to forwarn you...

There is no way we should go to Zimbabwe.

As it is, it is going to be embaressing enough for all parties concerned..

Either way.. lets get on with it :)

Aussie Aussie Aussie!

Oi Oi Oi!

it's no use any of the other countries playing. Australia, not only will win it for the second succesive time (next to WI) but will do it without losing a SINGLE match, creating history. Aussie, Aussie, Aussie, oi,oi,oi

yes watched the WI / SA game - very exciting. If the games are all like taht then it should be great World Cup.

England still havent decided if they are going to Zim - Australia are waitingt on the sideline to see what England do

There has been death threats etc. If they dont go they will upset people , if they do they will upset people

I think they should fly in hours before - play the game and then fly out

Make a point to Mugabe if they can

Irritating yesterday, BBC world cut to a live press conference where the Brits should have announced their decision, but it'll be today. Funny, the annoucer was pissed. They had been promised a result.

Fly in, fly out. Not bad. No tourist dollars for Mugabe. But moving the show should be the best result.

The ICC wont switch the games - that has been decided. The decision now rests firmly on the players shoulders. It is up to them if they want to boycot or play.

Personaly I think they will be safe in playing the game - though I wouldnt like to be the one to give the 100% guarentee to the players families .

The country is unstable , but Mugabe does have a firm grip on the police and army - that is the problem he can do what he wants and has been doing for last 3 years.

I have family in Harare and whilst things are tough and uneasy - they are just getting on with life -

Let us know how it comes out.

As far as I am aware, NZ have said no, England are still arguing and the Australians are getting slinters in their butts.

To me, it is all or none, and I would prefer none.

Overnight scores had Sri Lanka beating New Zealand convincingly (boo, hiss).

The Zimbabwe team defeated Namibia in a rain affected match which was overshadowed by an impressive political statment made by Andy Flower and Olonga.

Even if the games are not all cliffhangers to watch and listen to... the contraversy (sp?) alone, more than makes up for it.

My two picks won, and it was great to sit here and have the live updates, I just wish Jayasuriya would bat past 40 overs.

Who bets on Pakistan today? This is the scariest match of the lot.... GO HARVEY
