The a/c dude was supposed to come look at my unit an hour ago.

Too hot to study. Heh.

Dog- panting.

Draaah- non-plussed.

Comfort me, and make it cold, please.

i really hate summer......<slipping some icecubes into your satiny blue bazooka holder>

If it makes you feel any better it's routinely still 90+ degrees here at 9 p.m. at night.

Hope that helps.

I have no air conditioning anywhere... :(

I can make you forget about the heat though.

Ginny, I knew you'd have a clever concoction to relieve me. Yum.

Throb-that's just gross, in my opinion and i'm sorry for ya.

I'm an autumn kinda girl.

your satiny blue bazooka holder? is that a satiny blue holder or a holder for satiny blue bazookas.

i feel your pain draaah. mine went out at the music store yesterday and it was 98 degrees, no fans and no breeze. in this case the "ac dude" is a very good friend of mine. or he was til he told me he couldn't get there til friday.

Draaah, I am so with you. Fucking HOT. I fell asleep before turning the air on, and I will never get this house cooled down.

and it's supposed to be like this till the end of the weekend.

Good bye Spring, Hello summer.

*pout*

Uncle- doesn't much matter, I think my bazooka's are melting.

Piper- why is the heat hotter in Chicago than anywhere else?

It is that way all of you, just so you know.

This city retains heat in the worst way.

Not sultry, smughksla;gha;yy.

Yeah. Like that.

satiny blue bazookas.....hmmm.......only if we pack the holder with ice and replenish it every 15 minutes as it melts against alex's hot woman flesh.....they might turn blue, prolly purplish......<nodding>....and then it would be a satiny blue bazooka holder for her icy blue bazookas....

keep cool girl...

...swealtering heat should come from the inside, not the outside...

Your A/C guy is probably sitting in his A/C'd truck...

...was there ever a better time to hit Walmart?

hmmm...maybe not...theatres are nice..

dont melt!

First, get your dog a bowl of Ice. It will make him feel better, but he won't consume it too fast the way he would with cold water, because he'll chew on it.

No air conditioning here either...

and my idiot boss thought that buying fans for the windows so that hot air can be blown on us was the answer. Gotta love executives with little brains. He does nothing all day anyway so HE doesn't have a clue how hot working gets ya!

I think it has something to do with being land lock, yet still by a large body of water. Whatever it is, the midwest in the summer sucks ass.

OK

That post up above was not nice. I am nice, but that was not nice.

I think swimming is a good idea.

Oh, is shit usually 98.6 degrees or is it cooler than that?

I still wanna see.

As for the weather in Chicago it is interesting.

I've always considered the cold more penetrating there, I figured it was because of the wind racing the length of the lake & maybe the moisture.

I was there once on a perfectly still & calm day & I could taste the exhaust. It's better windy.

All that brick & pavement & concrete can reflect & hold a lot of heat.

So, is it oppressive because of the moisture that keeps sweat clining without cooling? Or is it oppressive because of a wind that's as hot & dry as a hairdryer?

What's the temp up there? Like . . . 80? Fuck, I'd still be wearing my sweatshirts and shit.

It's 93, hon...definitely not sweatshirt weather

I'm sorry you're so uncomfortable, Draaah. It really sucked when my A/C was out during the last heatwave so I can sympathize with ya.

Ice water and lots of it. It's amazing how quickly it will bring down your body temperature.

over the years of watching the weather on the news and stuff, I've found that in the summer time, the suburbs are generally 5-10 degrees hotter than the city, and in the winter time the city is generally 5-10 degrees warmer than the 'burbs.

It's got to have something to do with the lake.

Regardless, I should move to the city. LOL.

Yay! I'm cool again!

And he was only slightly creepy. I had to help him take the unit out of the window (really it's a hole in my wall) and he seemed pleased to tell me that I was "a strong lass, indeed."

Then some other weird comments about his "woman" and wanting his hands clean when he touches her.

Whatever.

There was more but it's all but forgotten now that I'm sitting in my sweet, sweet air-conditioned world.

I'm easy like that.
