It's getting warmer

I'm in upstate NY and also have oil...luckily I am on a budget plan, I shell out $127.00 a month for 10 months, last year it was $224 a month. I'm doing all I can this winter to keep the heating bill down for next year...I just got new windows put in plus a new door, so I should definitely notice a difference in price next year.

They just filled up my tank last week and left the pricing info, it was listed at 2.89 a gallon.

I did 100 gallons last month which was $350 and I will be adding an additional 100 gallons this week. (I like to keep it on the full side)
New windows and doors make a huge difference! I have the same, new windows, new doors, and a new furnace. Lucky my house is on the smaller side. I could not imagine heating a larger home right now.

You better keep my warm then...my feet get cold.

You know I will babygirl ... I just love kissing your pretty feet and sucking your little toes.

While you scream and flail and kick me in the teeth.

I use propane to heat with now...

I don't care how much it costs, I need to be comfortable in my home.

We burn wood...$75 a cord (cut, delivered, stacked) and use propane as a backup at $1.95 gal. Our house stays about 66-69. Have to keep clothing on.

That made me laugh! Sorry to disappoint, Im not a foot person. It creeps me out.:D

66-69 is comfortable for me. In this area pellet stoves are gaining much popularity.

Wow, that is very high! We are around $3.05-3.20 a gallon. It depends on your location and your method of payment.

It is a high price and the police are telling people to put locks on their fuel tanks, there's already been lots of fuel stolen.

It pisses me off that the electric company can charge twice the usual amount during the winter months. Seems to me like that would be illegal.

That is terrible..locks on the fuel tanks..geesh. The same happens here, during the winter months or stormy times, the heating prices go right up (not quite as expensive as in your area) There is something horribly wrong with that.

That is, in my house. I finally said f-it and turned up the thermostat. I'm tired of being cold (today is freezing). I was trying to conserve on my oil due to high cost of oil this year but I'm not going to freeze. How is the price of oil where you live?

I use a lot of firewood. I have two large hearths that I put 5 foot logs inside and keeps my rooms very toasty. I also use oil but the fireplaces and wood stoves in the house really work well to keep oil uses low.

Wear more than tights and a tutu and you may stay a bit warmer. I don't like frozen cookies.

Ok, good point. Wearing tights and a tutu is just a no-go around the house these days. What can I say?;) As far as my cookies...oh they are warm!

I have steam heat, supplied by the building management, included in the rent. It's -1ºC outside right now, and I'm in my skivvies.
