George and Putin is quickly falling apart.

In the Red Corner you have Russia fighting it's own war against terrorists in Chechnya and...

In the Blue Corner you have America fighting it's own war against al Qaida.

Russia comes out fighting and bombs Georgia where Putin claims Chechnyan rebels are being protected. We all know America has done the same thing in Afghanistan based on the same excuse (but in her case al Qaida were being protected).

Many civilians have been reported killed in Georgia.

Many civilians were reported killed in Afghanistan.

So far I can't see much difference between the two. Can you?

Well in that case can someone explain to me in simple terms why, yesterday, George the Mad protested strongly to Russia about the bombing in Georgia saying that he was "deeply concerned" that innocent people were killed?

He's meant to be scouring the world to gain friends not alienate new ones...

The man's insane I tell you...insane...

however, the "buddy-buddy" relationship between your head and your ass seems to still be going strong, Peeps.

I wholeheartedly concur with your assesment.

That's meant to be a mature comment about the thread subject?

I suppose you can always practice your own brain surgery training by sticking your own hand up George's arse...

Very insightful. You've been saving that one for a while, haven't you?

I decided to give up on mature comments to your threads awhile back. As if you would actually listen to an opposing viewpoint.

I think you're a harmless old crank with a funny Jones for America and George W. Bush.

Carry on, Peeps. You're a hoot.

So I take it you can't see the obvious duplicity of Bush?

If all you can do is make 'clever' little comments like the above because you like to be part of the group and can't formulate, and post your own opinions then all you are doing is confirming in many non-Americans' minds exactly how childish your country really is...

But then I suppose you're the type of arsehole who shouts 'kick arse' and 'unleash the dogs of war' because it sounds cool...

i'm amazed by the utter garbage that comes out of the mouth of a fellow commonwealther.

That's tres funny coming from someone who probably read a couple of newspapers today and ran to Lit. to post a thread in order to show off an "apparent" intelligence.

Go on. While we're at it, let's discuss how Kosovo could have been mitigated had ethnocentrists like yourself gotten off your fat arses and taken responsibility for ending atrocities taking place in your own back yard.

At least we didn't support both sides like your country did...

You're a real child of Bush aren't you?

now that was very insightful. good comeback. yes, you really got me.

child of bush? is this what this is all about? you wish you had him as president?

are you suffering from world leader envy? if so, you're a greater fool than i thought previously.

There are lots of similarities, I will admit.

But Russia is MUCH worse and MUCH more brutal than the U.S. pp-man. Brutality that is malicious and intentional and systematic, coming straight from the top from the highest levels of the chain od command. You naive Western Europeans have no idea how harsh Russian are in wars. You think we are bad, they make us look like Mr. Rogers.

Read this pp Russia 'thinning out' Chechens

Hmm, maybe I'll move to Chechnya when they are all done, there will be a whole lot of single women then.

several differences between Chechnya and Afghanistan.

Chechnya is a break away republic. Afghanistan was/is a terrorist playground.

Russian soldiers killed civilians with thier own intel.

America killed civilians with warlord intel.

from your point of view I can see so many similarities.

Afghanistan was also a sovereign state which America invaded. Russia is merely trying to control terrorists from within.

Shall I mention the news that broke last week of the wholesale massacre of Taliban whilst American troops stood by and watched?

I still can't see the difference between the actions of the two countries.

I think, yet again, that Bush is shouting his mouth of for home consumption. What with the mid-terms coming up an' all. He has to be extremely blind and self centred to think that what he says for the American public is going to have no affect on how other countries view him.

Mind you he's been such a laughing stock for so long now he's probably retreated into denial...

Chechnya is trying to become a sovereign state. The USSR is dead.

btw American forces aren't the only ones in there.

I wouldn't bother anymore. pp man's on a "i'm going to bash Bush no matter what" bender.

Shame he's clueless to the fact that most americans don't like Bush either.

I don't care if he likes Bush or not.... I just wish he'd read his propaganda and post sober...... it's a shame he gets all riled up after a Guinness bender...

Well America shouldn't keep shouting as if she were...

It gives people the wrong impression.

Heineken if you please.

Today was a Heineken day...

Shall I mention the news that broke last week of the wholesale massacre of Taliban whilst American troops stood by and watched?

Would you rather have us go to war with the Northern Alliance now too, just to protect those who were trying to kill us?

pp_man you are a real bastard for this reason. If we tried stopping them we would have had to fight them. THEN you would have started a post here crying about how the aggressive murderous U.S. forces are trying to take over Afghanistan for themselves now and are attacking it's allies in a fit of paranoid madness. He can't win with you no matter what he does!

So I take it you can't see the obvious duplicity of Bush?
But of course. To boost his own popularity Bush bombs the people of Afghanistan from the 19th century all the way back to the stone age and has the nerve to criticize the Russians and the Isrealies on who they bomb.

I really dislike Bush. Make fun of him all you want as far as I'm concerned. Besides, he didn't win the presidency, he stole it.

It's not so much he can't win no matter what he does but the fact that he keeps exposing himsef to these incredible positions where he lays himself open to global crtiticism that I find amazing.

What other world leader makes so many twists and turns in his policy, says one thing one minute and another the second and completely ignores what he has recently been doing whilst jumping down the throats of others who do the self same thing quite so frequently as George?

And this totally stupid individual has been given the mantle of the most powerful man in the world!

Either something is seriously wrong with the American political selection process or you all really are mesmerised by big bucks.

Tell me Frimost, what do you think he has done during his very short time in office that you think is so wonderful?

Tell me Frimost, what do you think he has done during his very short time in office that you think is so wonderful?

Well pp_man, you see Clinton did many of the same things Bush did but he was slick and had a wonderful media department to spin the news and distract the people. Clinton was like a cheap stage magician, smoke and mirrors, look and him talk and distract you while he does the opposite with his actions.

I don't Bush is all that dumb, he just doesn’t give a shit what you think about him, many times he just says what he means, talks straight-opinion polls be damned. That's why I like him, because he has the Texas style of not only doing what he says but not apologizing for it, not lying about it, not denying it. I like the bluntness, some people call it crassness, it may seem like a blundering style-like a bull in a China shop. But his style is intentional, not accidental. At least we know what we are getting with him, he is a known quantity, we can anticipate his stances. With Clinton you never knew just what the hell he would do.

Clinton was slick because he told you ALL the things you wanted to hear, He played to the press, he danced like a little trained monkey for the cameras as they plied their little diplomatic tune. But he didn’t actually DO half the things we said he would do, or even half the things he said he did do. Bush has the opposite style, which I like more personally.

There were times PP-man, that it seemed Clinton was doing what was in the best interests of EUROPE, NOT America. And that is WRONG because he is (or was) OUR president elected by OUR people. That is why you liked him and why I did not, it was the same deal with Gorbachov and the former Soviet Union-loved by the world and hated by his own country.
